Tore hammy....fu*&in hurts!

I tore the shit out of my left hamstring in a rugby match yesterday. Trainer wants me to be out for 6 weeks. I may not be able to be out that long. Any ideas to increase the healing process guys?

Basketball was invented to keep football players in shape during the offseason.-Lombardi 1963.

ice till the swelling goes down, then heat and milk stretching when it isnt so painful to do so,prob around week 3 you can start stretching

btw grand choice in sports man, rugby owns all others

Only 6 weeks? Consider yourself lucky.

I've torn my hamstring twice now, the second time I was out of commission for 12 weeks and still have lingering soreness a year later.. its very delicate.

I'd suggest physical therapy from a professional ASAP.

I tore my quad squatting a month ago. Them's a bitch. My heart goes out to ya, bro.

There is no alternative but slow careful rehab. A rehab or occupational therapist, especially one that's deals with athletes, will speed it a bit. For mine, it was light leg press (I do 800 normally, started sled only, then 135lbs etc, up to 375 two days ago), extensions, and band and broomstick front squats. That still is my routine, and my weights are about 1/2 max. Truthfully, I enjoyed it once the pain stopped. All this thinking about my legs and form and healing has them looking pretty darn good. When healed up, I think I'll be better, stronger and smarter. Good luck, bro.

Thanks for the support bros. It sucks goin around campus on pit rubbers, but hey at least my triceps will get more work in. lol.

Go rugby or go to hell! I'm out.
