I've had high Bp(140/80) ever since my dbol and eq cycle ended two months ago. The Dr. said I need to take as many preventative steps as possible in order to avoid the administration of blood thinners and Beta statin drugs.

Here are a few things she said would work best. PLEASE feel free to add to list. Im desperate here.

1) Meditation. The Dr. said there are hundreds of studies that prove meditation is good for the heart.

2) cut out CAFFIENE.

3) cut out SODIUM.

4) Eat Tomatoes. They contain lycopene which reduces blood pressure.

5) Relax. Stress is the biggest casue of High BP in America.

Please add as much as possible. Thanks Bros.

Get quality - sufficient quantity - sleep to be able to make it through a normal day and get enough extra to be able to hit this gym for at least 30-45 minutes a day of lifting 3 days a week. Try filling you off gym days with a walk, bike right, or some over activie leasure activity. Leave work at work. Never work weekends even if you have to work late Mon-Fri. If you have a familily get invovled, if you are not already. It really helps me have something other then work in my life. Eat right!

Anyway, that is what I would add....

Ok here goes...Everything you just cited is too simplistic...salt intake only affects about 25% of people with high blood pressure, I have never seen a study showing lycopene reduces blood pressure and I eat lots of tomatoes and pink grapefruit which also contains lycopene. Caffeine supposedly raises BP 5 points but that is not significant, meditation is good for reversing atherosclerosis but I have not seen evidence in blood pressure.

Finally, I have to take issue with stress being the biggest cause of high BP in America.....this is wholly unproven and I believe erroneous. The facts I read are that they really don't know what causes high blood pressure in the majority of cases. I recently read of a female marathoner\triathlete who just developed it over the years even though she watches her diet and obviously does lots of cardio. Usually it develops in older people and often they have low stress really. Steroid induced high blood pressure usually recedes with cessation of drugs and some never get it. I believe those that get it are already prone to high blood pressure. I see many natural cures but often they cost more tham routine meds for this condition and are unreliable.

Drink TONS of water...not soda, ice tea, etc. WATER. Preferably not tap water.

If you're willing to try the natural supplement route, I've seen guys get great results with a combination of Hawthorn Berry and CoQ10.

Everything I stated above was directly from my family physican. She recently graduated from one of the best med schools in the country, so I trust her advice completely.

But, just as you said. Too simplistic. I'm looking for more things to add to the list. If you don't have anything to add to the list...DONT BOTHER REPLYING!

Minimize estrogen, incorporate the aminos L-Arginine for vasodilation and for blood vessel and arterial integrity. L-tyrosine has been shown to have stress-relieving and BP lowering effects.

Decrease or discontinue all stimulants.
