Top 4 Supplements - the basics

Nutrient-Nut

New member
1. Protein Powder
2. Creatine
3. Glutamine
4. Multivitamin/Multimineral

* If you're into supplementation, and like myself, you want supplements that are actually beneficial and proven to work....Stick to the basics!

There are many other nutrients, like EFA's & herbs, that are good to take, but these 4 above absolutely need to be in your daily diet if you want maximum growth.....in addition to legit gear of course!

1. water
2. quality protein
3. quality carb intake
4. omega 3 fatty acids
5. r-ala :p
6. mulivitamin and mineral

not in any order.. though water is the most overlooked..

the omega 3's are not so much performance as health, though they do ehlp with a number of biological functions.

did not include omega 6 and 9 because america diet is replete with them..

btw- minimizing hydrogenated oils is FAR MORE important that worrying about saturated fats..

:p

multi's are very important, ive been neglecting them for a year now, which is the best?

Big mistake boy! You should take a good multi everyday year-round. Our food is significantly lacking in a full spectrum of vitamins and minerals. This is b/c over time the soil has been depleted of minerals, and farmers only put N, P, K back in. Nothing else. 100 years ago, you could obtain a lot more nutrients in your food, but not today. This is why we must supplement.

There are lots of good brands out there, but don't settle for something like Centrum or Theragram or some other discount multivitamin/multimineral. They are inferior by far. A good multi is the best insurance you can have. Make sure that the multi is high in the antioxidants - A (beta carotene), C, E & make sure that it contains lots of minerals in good doses.

Protein Powder? Not necessary.
Glutamine? Garbage IMO.
Creatine? Maybe.
Multi Vit-Min? Yes.

#1 will allways be a Multi Vit-Min
#2 is r-ala

Anything else you can get from food. Even EFA's.

Yes, WATER is extremely important and it is the MOST IMPORTANT nutrient of all, but I assumed that everyone already knows this and drinks plenty of water every day.

I take many other supplements, but the ones that I listed are IMO the most beneficial for size. If you're on a good cycle, you want to have adequate amounts of water, protein, glutamine, vitamins, minerals, and creatine (whether from red meat or supplementation).

5.) Porn (only a supplement really when on)

Well said. I think when on Test, number 6 is most important. LOL.

r-ALA is for sure one of the tops on my list, along with creatine, multi vit, omega 3 fat, and MARCO hit the nail on the head as usual with WATER.

Guess I'm behind on this one....what is r-ala?

Good supplements also include:

HMB
BCAAs
Colostrum

i'm curious as to what r-ala is as well. is it the same as alpha lipoic acid?

I don't really count water as a supplement, but here's my list:

1. Protein Powder
2. Creatine only while on slin
3. Vitamins only when on dnp
4. ALA only on dnp or 17aa's

Everything else is garbage to me. Protein powder is the only one I find very important, specially right after workout. Also some carb drink helps a lot right after lifting.

r-ala is the r-isomer of racemic ala (normal ala).. it is the one that exerts most (if not all of ala's positive benefits)..

it has been shown to lower plasma insulin (whereas racemic has not.. s-ala has been shown to elevate it)

Best legal physique enhancing supplements:

1. Insulin (kind of doesnt count)
2. Not telling till I make my final order hehe
3. Protein powder
4. Multi Vitamin??
5. R-ala for leanness and maintenance, ala for coming off cycle

Best cosmetic enhancer:

1. Yohimburn
2. GLA for skin
3. Maybe bromo for face leanness
