Too Much Mayo?

Okay, I have either 3 (weekdays) or 5 (weekends) tuna sandwiches on whole wheat bread a day. The reason is because I love tuna, its cheap, most protein out of any single food I know of (that remains this inexpensive) and is a fish which contains some omega 3's so I really don't bother to take falx.

Okay anyway, I use about a serving of mayo every sandwich, which is 100 calories and 11 grams of fat. Is this too much fat/mayo being consumed? Should I try using relish, mustard, or something else with the tuna?

If anyone can tell me other really cheap sources of protein, I'd appreciate it. It's 45 cents for a can of tuna, and each can has 32.5 grams of protein so... I don't think there's much better.

I wouldn't worry about the unsaturated fats, so long as you're not cutting, and as long as you don't go over the recommended fat grams of any bulking diet you're on (though it probably wouldn't hurt too badly).. but the saturated fats could be an issue, depending on how strict you are with them. A tablespoon of regular mayo has 11 grams of saturated fats, which is 17% of your daily value.

oh, okay. I just did a search on fitday. You must have a different brand than the type in their database. In that case, don't worry about it. Just eat your tuna and enjoy it, too! ;P

mayo will kill you. nothing but hydrogenated oils or transfatty acids throw that shit in the trash, give it to the neighbors dog

I'd like to see what other people have to say about this. I don't think a serving of mayo 3-5 times a day will harm me much but I want to hear more. Mr. X, your take on this?

if you have to use mayo...use the helmanns light variety....it has like 1 or 2 grams and taste pretty decent. Or just use mustard or fat free cheese...plenty of ways to eat tuna without full fat mayo

Another cheap protein is eggs. Anyway, are you trying to gain size? The mayos I've seen are usually mostly soybean oil. If you want the calories, I would eat the mayo.

Are you cutting ?
If so, leave the mayo !

are you bulking ?
If so, buy a "good" mayo (ie w/o saturated and hydrogenated fat, w/o added sugar...)
it won't kill you
