Tom Platz on losing BF while gaining LBM- opinions?

a few years ago, i attended a seminar done by tom platz. in it, he recommended to zig zag your diet (3-4 days eat more calories than your BMR, 3-4 days eat less) for five months to lose bodyfat and gain lean body mass. he said since cardio burns muscle, its not a good option to do while trying to gain LBM. what are your opinions on this?

I ask because it goes against what you read on these forums. no cardio and being on a phase to lose BF and add LBM at the same time is something you dont see on forums.

EDIT:he also said going low carb is not a good option.

Aaron Baker was attending the seminar and seemed as if he were interested in those ideas.

i think that with AAS like EQ and winny or test/arimidex and fina you can add the LBM and adding T3 to a clen/ECA cycle will allow you to lose some BF.
 
Tom Platz definately knows his shit!! thats cool to know hes still giving seminars....how did he look? check out some of the videos of him on youtube, especially the backstage when he unzips his warmup top and show samir what shredded really looks like!! fucking awesome!!!
 
I think it's a very subjective thing, but I have to agree with what he's saying. As far as cardio, I dont think it's as evil as people make it out to be when it comes to eating muscle, especially if you have an excess amount of fat to lose and are eating/supplementing properly to prevent muscle catabolism.
 
It's funny Aaron Baker gets brought up. I was wondering what he was up to until a few weeks ago. He is now doing testimonals late at night for that abdoer machine. It was weird seeing him again and doing that. He looked just as incredible as ever. Very similiar to Flex. I wonder why he just doesn't compete again. Perhaps he is scared he will still be punsihed for the wbf thing.

As for the diet, I can't say I'd argue with Tom Platz. The man obviously knows what he is doing. And on the right amount of gear, nutrition and supplements anything is possible.

I do no Cardio Precontest and if I do its minimal...15 min high intensity 2-3 times a week. I do giant set almost all my weight training so maybe thats it.

I think whatever you and your sister are doing is working and working WELL, lol. Good genes run in your family for sure.

Are you doing the jr nationals this year? You are looking swole as ever in your avi.

Thanks! Actually Jr. USA's and maybe North Americans. My GF is doing Masters Nationals in the over 50 and over 35. She won the over 35 in 2000. She would turn pro if she won the over 35! I myself am moving back up to heavies.I was in lt hvys in my Avatar. We will see what happens.

The zig-zag works period-if you do it with no junk. You should do cardio (I hate it myself unless it is sports) for your heart health. If you are concerned about losing muscle because of cardio do a stint on anavar which helps preserve muscle mass (think wasting patients).

Off to do epic leg workout before the crack like addiction to football playoffs sets in.
