Care for my take. I think Pamela summed it up very well. American women have many, many roles. Me for instance, I am a wife, daughter, student, and a very hard worker. I have different personalities for each of my "jobs". One thing I do try to be is very friendly, no matter what I may be doing. I am also extremely confident. I remember this one time that my husband and I went to Paris on business and one of his co-workers was from Lebanon, well my husband and I were talking about our jobs and how we love to work and how we give 110% to anything we do, and he looked right at us and said that he loved how "arrogant" American's are.
It's very hard to generalize any American, let alone American women. I have to be honest though; I can't stand most women and generally chose to not involve myself in friendships with any of them unless they are family.
