Buying gear in TJ is a JOKE! I wouldn't waste time on smuggling; it's way too risky. Find a real s****e and get HUMAN grade products not VET CRAP (unless you're talking EQ, then that's the lone exception ;-)

Well, thats SOUNDS good, IF the stupidity of that guy would only effect that one guy. Like if someone is a dumb ass, and his dumb ways only effect him, and increase HIS risks and hassles - no big deal - right?

That's not the way the real world works.

The sad fact is that a bunch of idiots arriving into TJ and crossing without being cool ruin it for EVERYONE. And then even responsible guys end up with a lot of heat.

I know guys that used to go to a very cool place in TJ and it was a good profile, low key, no hassle. Then a few kids find out, and want to play the "look at me ain't I cool - I have info" game. So these kids blab about all of this, including details about one cool granero in particular.

Now even the experienced cool guys that have played the game for a while get hassled. The place is watched now by TJ cops. Cab drivers keep an eye out, knowing that can make a few bucks if some guys are roughed up and shaken down for some cash.

And please spare me the "oh but see, in Mexico, I happen to know the legal status of these things, and i can tell you ....."

LOL, Please. Get real.

When some black SUV with tinted windows pulls up, and your ass gets thrown in there, and now 4 guys in uniform are shaking you down for cash or saying they are gonna haul your ass away - I want to SEE some of you guys start to act like the Mexican Johnny Cochran and start spouting off about how well YOU know Mexican law. See how far that gets you.

Its best to err on the side of caution. You mods who delete threads with a bit TOO much detail - just keep righ on doing it!

Any guy who is cool, patient, and hangs in here for a while, will find a way to get the info they need.

If you are some kid who pops in here for a week, has 27 posts, and wants to whine because you cant get the info you want even though you spent a whole HOUR looking for it, then boo hoo. Go elsewhere.

Point well taken. The only thing that I took issue with is the fact that this newbie was flamed for asking a question that didn't seem to be against board policy or rules. No one here is going to argue the points you made above. I just think we as members can use a little more tact with someone who is new here.
