TO the Car buffs

Any of you ever swapped an engine before? I'd like some pointers and/or a book, video, or something that can help me learn along the way. Any kind of experience reguardless if you work on V8, V6, whatever...

it depends on what you are swapping an engine into. for expample if you want to swap a V8 into an S-10 there are numerous books that detail the whole thing.

there'a alot to consider when swapping a motor clearance of the firewall...alignment of motor mounts,radiator clearance,tranny match etc..you get the picture..RADAR

cool, how did yall learn about working on cars? I mean yeah I learned to do oil changes and easy shit but I never really worked on doing anything major to a car. I found a guy online who is going to let me work with him on his new Accura once he gets it. I'm just trying to learn as much as I can.

it al depends on wha tkind of engine you want to swap...

go to internet fourms, and learn as much as possible.... , its no cake walk

When I was a teenage, my friends and I were a bunch of gearheads. All we did was talk about american V8's and race. We used to work on our own cars, and I helped a friend of mine yank out a motor of an 87 IROC, rebuilt it, and put it back in. I'll tell you, compared to todays newer cars, this was a pretty easy feat to accomplish. And it was a major PITA!!!
