Hey, I read about an interesting philosophy that counters the "What in your life would you change from your past, to make your life better today" type thinking.

If you could look 10 years into the future, and look back on yourself now, what would you change about your life TODAY that would make your life better 5-10 years from now?

It is a way of progressive thinking... and I know, it is difficult to ascertain what the future will hold, but it is much easier to change what is going on in your life TODAY than yesterday.

Just a thought... might stir some thoughs up.

I didn't ask what I would change in the past, but what I would chnage in the present. People answered it in diofferent ways.

To be perectly honest, a few years ago, I was a typical "early 20's" guy with apprehensions, insecurities, fears, etc. I was probably my own worst enemy. I let a lot of stuff distract me, had very little understanding of things, etc. etc. I had a good IT job, but I was more concerned about drinking on the weekends than financial stability and long term goals.

Through some dumb luck I met an extremely smart and successful guy that I became friends with. He acted as kind of a mentor and I learned from his success....saw how he overcame these thigns and how he deals with business people, etc.

In short, I got plugged into a circle of people I might have had to work 20 years to see, and my progress was drastically accelerated.

I asked that post because I am developing some motivational speaking and writing, (available soon) and I want to try to develop some verbiage to convey those (near-universal) feelings.

Well then...

I think I have those same fears and apprehensions that you speak of... I think the same thing is holding me back.

Nearly everybody does. That's life. But they are so irrational.

I happened to meet one of these rare individuals who didn't, and he has numerous businesses and several hundred million dollars, all self-made, under 40. By being around him, I was able to overcome these fears, and get into some really cool palces.

Now I am trying to share this with other people.

Would you really want to change your past? I mean, the first thing I thought of was to bring back a family or take back getting lupus... but after really pondering, what I went through then has made me who I am today. I really don't think I would take anything back. Learning from those experiences has shown me that I need to grasp every day. You learn to take every chance today because you see that you may not get that chance tomorrow. I mean, even last weekend, I randomly drove 8 hours to San Diego... and I ended up hanging out with a lot of really wonderful people that I actually have a lot in common with and truely admire. I think people really need to take more chances in life, it is funny to just look back and see what comes out of them.

Yes, then pass this along Mr.Skywalker...

I'd love to get the wits about me to start my own practice...
