to help a kid........

New member
i have been asked by a parent to give some suggestions of how to supplement her son's diet. he is on G_H supplementation but is still very thin. i asked if the Dr. recommend any diet plans and she said no. he is your typical picky 14 year old that wont slow down enough to eat. any suggestions appreciated.

Well if he is picky and won't eat good clean food id say at least try and get him to eat loads of crap food because by the sound of it he has a fast metabolism. I doubt he will gain much if any fat.

well if he's picky just give him lots of what he likes but try to balane it take multy vits aswell dont just give him loads of crap because his heart will quit on him by the time he's 40

tried that needto. nobody would answer it. i figured you guys would be glad to help and would have a lot of knowledge of G_H supps...........

but thanks???????

sorry about that bro...some times other boards are just to slow lol.

I think she should make him things he can take on the go and eat fast.

tell here to sit down with him for a wile.find out what he will eat things he likes that are full of protein and good cals.once she has this list then she needs to sit down and figure out ways to make him what he likes and will eat but make it easy for him to eat them at any time so he can just scarf it down and go.protein shakes are a must of course.she needs to make it easy tell her to get creative.. if she can just stop him for a second pull something out the frig and say here eat this it will take only a min then he will prob eat more and get more cals in.

why is this kid on GH? Is he stunted or just thin? GH isn't going to pack pounds on him. I would seriously wonder what his Dr is thinking putting a 14 yr old skinny kid (skinny is not uncommon at that age) on GH.

Bump^^^....I wanted to ask this same question.

I'm sorry, I've got to call bullshit on this thread. There is no Dr that would prescribe a 14yr old kid GH to gain weight and there is no insurance carrier that would cover it. Put that skrawny fucker on some test and d-bol and we'll put some weight on him. lol

The same here bro..........sounds funny.........

sounds like total all around bullshit to me..

if its legit hook me up with the doctors name, my skin isnt elastic, i need GH for skin quality im sure the doc will hook it up from the before mentioned information

you guys are way to quick to call b.s. on this. i didn't start some crap like this for a kid when it ain't serious. the kid has a gland problem and doesn't produce enough if any G-H. It has helped him with his height and bone structure but he is pretty skinny. your so busy trying to call bs on the real bs threads that you jumped all over a legitimate need for some advice. thanks man. you two were so quick to help each other decide you were right you never waited to find out.

needto,
I was thinking the same thing about making it quick and easy with some added protein or meal replacments. the reason i asked it here so quick was because i have read that G-H causes a lack of insulin. i don't know much about G-H and just wanted some advice. I was thinking maybe the ready to drink Iso Pure meal replacements. Pricey but full of some things he should need.

Does anybody agree with meal replacements or would somebody with some REAL knowledge suggest a weight gainer or other easy supp?
thanks for the help

and by the way, the Dr. should be somewhere in north Alabama, maybe Birmingham. since that is the only thing you were concerned with. now maybe you can go call b.s. on a real b.s. and leave helping to somebody else.

Relax bro and be careful who you start getting mouthy with around here. First off, give better information in your initial post. If you want advice give a detailed backround regarding pertinant health issues and stats. Then tell us what the kid is currently doing to try to gain weight. Do this and you won't get called out as a bullshitter. My initial question would be why are the paerents coming to you for advice when they are obviously dealing with a pretty progressive doctor? My second question would be why are they not dealing with a dietician if the kid is that underwight? He needs calories, plain and simple. First choice would be whole and unprocessed foods but if he just won't eat I would find a meal replacement that is higher in carbs and lower in protein that he likes the taste of. Once he begins to gain weight he'll be more receptive to eating actual food and he'll begin to gain some confidence. I would try to get the kid to eat good grainy bread, peanut butter, burgers, whole milk, pancakes etc - forget the typical BBer diet of eggwhites, chicken breast and tuna, he needs calories plain and simple. Keep his sugars low if possible, he'll get plenty in the milk but up his fats and carbs especially.

pizza heavy on the cheese!! high carb high proein and the kid will eat the asshole out of it!!! grilled cheese sandwiches... again heavy on the cheese, another thing kids usually don't mind havin!! go with whole wheat multi grain bread and whole wheat pizzas... both fairly cheap but pack a nice punch, a small protein shake, that's three very quick very easy answers to the problem!!

so first i should start being careful who i get mouthy with when i asked a legitimate question needing some others advice? instead of you asking what you thought would be needed to try to help YOU call bullshit right off. i didn't add all the needed info until someone with some knowledge actually acted like they wanted to help this kid. that part might have been my mistake. but i was in hurry. so who should be careful? me for asking you guys opinion and getting called a bull shitter? or you for assuming somebody would do that trying to help a kid? it's not about "being mouthy" or AFRAID of somebody on the computer. you, for one, kind of shocked me by not asking before you assumed the worst. you are usually straight up with good advice. which is exactly what you gave after all that unneeded stuff. as a matter of fact, it was exactly what i was thinking too. i asked because I have no experience and no real knowledge about G_H and it's affect on insulin production. I do however have a reasonable amount of knowledge about diet and nutrition. which is why they asked me. not that they should take my advice over a doc's. i asked the same question as to why they were not talking with a dietician. it really just sounds like a skinny 14 yo to busy to eat. good ideas about making it quick and easy and about including things to add cals that he would enjoy before going to other things. build his confidence and his appetite first.

any suggestions on a brand of ready to drink, higher in carbs than protein, and with a good taste?
