I'm not a user myself, but I have a few questions for you if you use steroids and happen to live in the Toronto area.

I'm a writer for the Toronto Star working on a story about steroid use. It's easy to find doctors and experts who will tell you never to use them, but obviously folks are still using them, and using them for a reason. If you're in the 416/905 area and you're using steroids, I'd like to hear your story. I'd like to know why and how your started and why you continue to use. How effective are steroids? Are the side-effects as bad as the anti-steroid advocates say they are....

Now, I don't want to embarrass anyone or get anyone into trouble. I won't publish your name or other details that may identify you if you don't want them published. I'm just interested in your story. I'm trying to paint a realistic picture of steroid use. My research tells me that despite what we've seen in the media so far pro athletes and high school students are a tiny fraction of the people who use steroids. But to paint that picture I need somebody to tell me his or her story. I will protect your identity and privacy if that's what you want. I just want to tell your story.

So if you're a steroid user in the Toronto area with a story to tell, please email me privately at [email protected]

Thanks

Morgan

why dont you just get some peoples opinion on here rather than in person. The person might not trust you all that well, I for one wouldnt because you never know who "you" are. why not ask this to us here so we can give you our opinions. We will most likely be more upfront with our answers.
I for one have not used yet... I am going to do this for bodybuilding. The anti- steriod advocates blow up how bad AS really is... I for one cannot answer this more because i am not a user yet.

Opin.

I have used steroids many times and done with a semblance of responsibility they are quite safe.

Remember, with virtually anything, someone ambitious enough can screw themselves up.

It's a shame that two children 'may' have committed suicide becuase they dramatically misused steroids (in part because of a lack of information due to their illegality) and decided to handle their depression in that fashion, but the number is quite low.

One could do a survey of just about anything, ladders, electric saws, tylenol, peanuts and find people who died as a result of mistakes or misuse.

I found the steroid hearings to be so absurd I cannot properly describe my disenchantment with the capabilities of our leaders.

I've only done a few cycles myself, so can't be considered a veteran, but I'll put my opinion in anyway. The reasons that most use (myself included) are pretty straight forward: vanity, confidence, etc... Being bigger than the average guy just feels better.

For myself, the risks associated with steroids are reasonable, and reduced with education and information, something that is now readily available (internet) if you can afford to spend the time. Not many who use these boards will dispute that there are certain risks, but the current media coverage, and even the 'official' medical status quo are so blatantly inflammatory and inaccurate that you can't help but laugh.

Steroids should never be used by anyone <21 years old (some even say 25 is too young), and if you hang around for a while, you'll notice that this opinion is shared by a vast majority of people here. Teens asking for advice typically get this advice: Don't even think about it, come back when you're all grown up.

I use steroids becuase I desire to accomplish a goal of size not achievable genetically.

There is no rationale for the argument that I should not be able to do this because we should "just be natural."

If we did adhere only to this notion the entire civilization we have would not exist. We would remain "natural" hunter-gatherers.

No planes because humans cannot naturally fly no modern medicine.

And to the argument that it is "dangerous" (not very if used correctly, even healthful if so):

No one will be able to engage in risky behavior like skiing, or eating poorly.

Eating poorly causes:

Diabetes
Heart disease
Colon cancer
Depression
Obesity
Death

We should make food a controlled substance because people misuse it.

I solute you Morgan. Looks like you are 1 out of many in the Media who actually follow the ethics and correct protocol regarding journalism. Providing the true picture, not hype. Giving the real story not propoganda. We need more journalists like whose personal oppinions do not transcend into their stories. More juornalists with integrity and the search for the true story which is what journalism is all about.

Let us know how the story is going and post a copy when you will be publishing.
God Bless

My question is this: if you talk to many users who tell you that they've experienced little to no side effects, very positive results, and your gut tells you that it is indeed possible to use steroids safely with proper education, PCT, and follow-ups with health professionals....are you going to have the courage to print that? Or are you going to twist their words and paint a dark picture like 99% of the other journalists out there?

It'd be nice to have an objective journalist with an open mind print an honest story, and I hope that you are doing this for the right reasons. There are already 1000 assholes out there printing the 'party line' that doctors spew out as directed by the College of Physicians and Surgeons...please don't become asshole #1001.

Just like everything else.. they need to be taken responsibly..

There are risks invovled as there are with everything...

Steroids are used by a lot more than high school kids and pro athletes and the reasons for use vary among users.

Not sure how many ppl u will get to email you directly though..

also not all steroid users are big guys.. some are not so big girls.. :verygood:
