yeah, my friends, brother in laws dad or something owns a construction company and he just happened to have one lying a round. a bit too big atm, but i think in a few weeks, i'll be fine with it

get lower......... your a great deadlifter but tire flipping is not deadlifting.

you legs should be more bent, and your chin should be on top of the tire, this will make you drive your shoulders into it.

then you drive the weight at a 45 degree angle. no up, not forward, but somewhere inbetween.

thanks for the advice

granted there are two people flipping, but it looks good to me. Make sure you hit the tire hard with the knee on the way up.

yeah i dont think i was using my knee enough.. and i think i was trying to deadlift it too much

I'm gonna do a few flips w/ my bro again for recovery on sat , see how that goes

Looks pretty good.

Get rid of the Chucks...they are HORRIBLE for Strongman!!!!

Every tire is different...but try to get low, feet away from the tire, shoulders ON it, and keep your feet moving fwd at all times!!!

Take the vid clip from the side next time...

any advice on form i could get would be great

just play around with your form. You should realize that there are really two different ways to flip a tire. One way is to basically deadlift it/powerclean it and knee it, starting with your feet up close to the tire and hands narrower in between your legs. You pics and video seem to indicate that you are doing this technique. It is the technique I use.

The other technique is the one X and B Fold are describing above where you basically drive into the tire with your legs by getting really low and putting your shoulders on the tire so that your chin is sitting right on top of the tire; feet are farther away from the tire. Many strongmen use this technique.

Either technique works good. I am a good deadlifter; I am also have a good power clean. Because of this, I think it is faster to flip a tire using the first technique than the second. This is because of transition time on multiple flips. I find it takes much longer to get your shoulders down on the tire than it does to just throw your hands under it; I can actually catch a tire on the bounce and flip it again--this is very difficult to do with the other technique. I do not change my technique based on the tire weight; I think it is the best for light and heavy tires.

below is an old video of me; it may help
