Tire Flip Vids

This is me doing our little tire after some tips from Clint to my friend Matt. All comments are welcomed. Little side note these flips were just me trying out a different style of lift. I wasn't training today as I was not feeling too well(slight hangover after drinking too many warm beers)

It looks like you're trying to "muscle" the tire up.

It's almost like a clean. You "clean" it up, get that knee under it RIGHT away while keeping the tire close to the chest and flip - and it should be EXPLOSIVE. By doing this, the tire will land (hopefully) some inches farther; thereby cutting down the amount of flips needed.

AND your speed will definitely pick up. Flipping a tire is not all strenght: there should be explosive, powerful speed to it, too.

Also, I see you were on the balls of your feet at the initiation of the flip. No more. Get your feet wider and keep them on the ground; like you would a deadlift or squat: you press your heels down into the ground. Explode up via the legs/hips.

The 2nd flip looks nice...you just need the right 'attitude' when taking it over...:)

Yeah I think soon I will get as aggressive with outside training as I am with my inside training. I always worry more about form though so once I think I have that really down on the tire then I'll go for it.

Where did you buy that tire at? I been looking to buy a tire but I really don't know where to look. How much do they usually cost?

If my memory serves me correct you can try local junkyards or tire dealers (tiretown). They usually have used and/or old tires that they need to "get rid of".

I would use the "excuse me, any chance you guys have tires you need to get rid of"
