This doesn't directly have to do with AAS, but I know a lot of people here have questions about the police and what not down there so this may be informative.
I went down to Tijuana with two friends last night.
We went to Safari, a club/bar. Then about midnight we went walking around some of the other areas in Tijuana, just for the adventure of it mostly.
So we get picked up by the cops in no times. They search us, take our ID, check us for drugs (actually just count our money) then throw us in the back of the cop car. Never really "under arrest" or handcufed.
They drive us around the city. I tell the other two guys to just not say a thing, because I know this drill. Its just bullshit scare tactics to get us to pay. One of the guys with me knows this and we are trying not to laugh. The other guy keeps asking how we can work this out.
The guy says we were in a bad area where people go to buy drugs. He says he is going to take us to see the judge. The judge will determine what our fine is, if we don't have the money we can pay with hours.. it would probably be 12 hours in jail.
We roll around with them for a long ass time. Three guys in the back of this cop car with no leg room, I'm cramping up my legs are asleep, and I have to piss. We are in the back as they make two other traffic stops. The guy repeats that we will need to see a judge, and we will be sleeping in jail tonight. He says the bail would probably be 40 dollars and we might be able to take care of it right now.
I get pretty mouthy and say "what did we do wrong.." he goes on to repeat that we were in an area known for drugs.. I said I didn't have any drugs.. this is all in Spanish which probably pissed him off since my spanish is rough. He got VERY mad..saying "Did I say you had drugs? NO! I am trying to help you, but you wont listen." My friend is getting pissed at me because now the guy is saying he can't help us because I wont listen and we are going to jail.
So we pull up at jail, we don't get out though.. they photocopy our IDs and show us the copy and say that even if we clear this with the judge we will have a record in Mexico. He says maybe if we pay him 100 dollars he can call his supervisor and they can take care of it with no record. They counted my money when looking through my wallet for drugs, so they knew I had a couple hundred. I said no way in hell am I paying $100.. before it was just $40.. and he said "40 EACH, not 40 for all"..
So the guy knows that I know the drill at this point. He asked where we work (to find out if we make/have money).. how many times we've been to Tijuana (to see how familiar we are with this drill).. and what we were doing down here.
They left us in the car in the station parking lot for about 30 minutes, then came back and said his supervisor can't help us anyway now. My friend is really freaking out, I'm laughing literally.. I really was never worried, even if I had gone to jail for a couple of hours its bullshit.. sure I'd rather pay money then to waste time in jail, but I would feel like a fucking tool to pay these guys off. These cops had a combined IQ of about 50 it seemed.
So my friend says "100 is too much, how about 50?" and they perked up and said.. how about 60? my friend said 50 is all we have.. (which they knew was a lie but oh well..) and they took it.. then dropped us back off at the strip.
So the moral of the story?
If you get picked up by the cops, it can be for nothing. It WILL be a big waste of time, but don't let them extort all your money.. just give them the least amount possible to get them to let you go on your way.
As they dropped us off they all of a sudden acted like our best friends.
