There are for Thyroid levels that doctors can test for, T3, Free T3, T4 and TSH. Based on the number of 2.7 I'm guessing he was tested for TSH, if thats the case the level of 2.7 is normal.
Forgot, the levels of TSH will vary from lab to lab. Normal range is 0.5-5.0, some say anything above 3.0 indicates low thyroid activity, but not inactive. Depending on her doctor and the lab doing the test she may be borderline Hypothyroid.
her symtoms are lethargic, poor concentration and memory, bloats very easily after eating almost any food, swelling if standing too long comments Onearm or anyone else
All the tests are accurate but for the information to be complete she should ask her doctor to order blood work measuring ALL thyroid levels, being tested for TSH is generally all that's needed but since she seems to be manifesting symptoms consistent with a thyroid condition her doctor should take a closer and complete look.
Hypothyroid condition is one of the most overlooked by medical doctors. If she meets any resistance on the part of her physition she should ask to see a thyroid specialist.
