Thunderbird crash -> video link

Thanks for the link i just read about that in the paper and wondered when the video would be out. Wonder what happened? Looks like maybe the guy didnt go up into the air high enough before coming back down and couldn't pull up enough when he did.

I'm going to school with a guy who flew in the T-birds a couple of years ago. As a result of earlier crashes, the pilot will always call out his parameters (airspeed, altitude, etc.) at certain points of a manuever. If they are out of parameters, they should "knock-it-off" and terminate the maneuver. Another pilot on the ground is listening in on the radio and can call the knock-it-off if he hears the parameters that aren't good enough. As you can imagine, there isn't much room for error.

Hopefully this was an engine failure that caused this - otherwise, it means he dicked up.

Awesome read on his part getting out of the jet - 0.5 seconds later and he would have been a dead man.
