i bet thats awsome for the stabalizers and the groing muscles that dont get hit during squats much. im too scared to try it, i feel like i would bust my ass

I know I'd fall and break something doing that, I'm the clumsiest person ever. Looks like a great stabilizer workout, though.

thanks alot coolcolj!!

hey thanks man!!

ya this is a great exercise to do. i didnt use any weights cuz i didnt have any spotters but its not about how much weight you use. i can squat around 100lb on it with around 5 reps, then my feet start slipping.

the ball does need to be inflated but i have to do it by mouth so thats as good as i got it at home. but in my gym at school tis fully pumped and i can do the same amount of weight.

i thought id post these cuz a long time ago ppl on here thought it was an usless exercise when i broguht it up so i thought id finaly post a pic of it.

thanks again coolcolj !!!

looks interesting to say the least. How does it feel on your ankles, and is there any real difference on muscles worked??? Just asking maybe good for a shot or 2...

I don't see the point in performing this exercise.

well since iv been doing squats on the swissball its helped with being lower to the ground and being more stable and agile. therefor making it harder for defenders to guard me me being so low.
its helped me out so maybe its a mental thing but it worked!

i dont feel any tenchon on my ankles. the squat on the ball just feels different i dont know if it works any different muscle more well major muscles but im sure it works strabliving muscles alot more!

Hmm good idea, this may not be as applicable to bodybuilding but will be great for other sports. This will definitely help with my skiing.

YES i hope you guys didnt think i did this for bb. thats what i was thinkin to. my friends dad im close with him and i told him it would help with skiing

coolcolj! you think this would help your vert. not your standing vert but, when yu are in a game situation and you are most of the time off balance or moving. you think this would help??

No. The speed is too slow. Plus you can't apply maximal force.

Your better off doing single leg jump squats or multi-directionl bounds/jumps

yeah i do those all the time. My adductors fail before anything else from rep to rep my feet slowely slide down. I have never fallen i normally know when i am going. Try and overhead squat on the ball talk about haveing to keep perfect alighnment. I have also played with someone rolling the ball to me and jumping on it and then squating. I think this exercise can be excellent for athletes but really has no application to bodybuilding. But if you like to have some fun in the gym and want people to look at you funny go for it.

iv been trying to jump on it but iv been failing. that is hard as hell.
no one really looks at me funny anymore cuz my gym teacher does it too.
my gym i work out at in the summer they look at me funny for everything i do. cuz i no one in there actualy does squats, deads or any of the good stuff

Man... that looks dangerous as friggen hell....
With my luck, I'd rack up the bar, and slip on my first rep and fuck something up REALLY BAD!

skiing inline and ice skationf would benefit form this I would think

well i have definitly so i think all athelets that have to have balance would benefit from it

lots of football players do it

They look difficulty to execute, but would be beneficial for balance and coordination.

I think that this is what they would build. Strength? Naaaa...coordination and balance..definately. I'd keep a phone with 911 pre-dialed though...lol

I tend to disagree somewhat. I think that an athlete would gain some real functional strenght. It might not help there max squat but i think it might help them from blowing out there knee or being able to stabalize during contact or whatever.

just my opinion though
