This year is the year when I GET RID of fair weather friends

I have started clearing out my phone books, with people who just bring me down or people who expect you to do all the work when it comes to friendship, you know the Calling and Texting all the time from your end......

I will only respond to numbers on my phone, those I have deleted if they get in touch , I will ask who is this and if they take offense that I have deleted their numbers that is their problem....

Honestly people focus on your good friends who are there and are available in good and bad, NOT those who call when they only want something

Well I guess I kept on given them the benefit of the dought that they will do better and be better, but it just brought me too much headache and I have had enough

I give people two " pass" tickets. IF they screw up twice and screw me over- THEY BE GONE-POOF!

I can count on one hand my TRUE friends! All other's are just background noise!

I have family that is included in that "background noise" too. It's even worse when you can include family in that dreary group, huh? Oy vey!

Yeah, why allow them to walk into home plate without paying their dues first?

I have very good friends. I would prolly have more if most people were not such jerks and take advantage of me at the very first chance they got!

Good idea, I should do the same thing. Some of my family falls under this catergory too, unfortunately.

It is funny when they feel they have the right to get upset because you deleted their numbers
as if they are that important, when they not done anything to try and contribute to the friendship
and expect you to always welcome them with open arms

Why?

Just devalue them and distance yourself from them. You don't have to be a dick.

And if they call for a reason - pretend your busy. That'll get them the message a lot more than being a jerk will.

You know... I have no issue w/peeps just calling me out of the blue one day when we haven't talked for WEEKS. We both get busy but when we get a minute we call/text whathaveyou and it will be like we never missed a day. BUT - I can count those people on one hand...

As for fair weather friends, my husband and I have NO DOUBT who they are. They are the ones who my husband loaned hundreds of thousands to when he had zero money troubles, but when the shit hit the fan they were the first to say, "Wow man, that sucks. Wish I could give you back the money that you lent me back in the day, but I just don't have the cash." or they were THE FIRST ONES to take advantage of our difficult situation.

The people who remained our friends while we were going through all that and the people who were our friends when we had nothing will ALWAYS be our friends. Everyone else can go scratch.

We have many associates, but we are VERY carefull about who we let into our lives.
