Recently, I'm dropping someone off in front of their house and I get about 100 yards down the road and totally out of nowhere a LE guy behind me in a marked car. He gets right on my tail and then pulls me over. I'm starting to freak out a little, but maintained. He goes thru the whole thing, license, registration. Comes back, everythings fine, then says he wants to look in the car and can he? So I say "well, its just a personal policy I have because I believe in the fourth amendment, that I don't consent to searches" So he gets ticked and says he's calling for a dog, so I say "If thats what you want to do". A second cop shows up(no dog)and the second cop says "can we have consent to search" and I repeated the exact same thing I told the first one. Needless to say I'm here telling ya'll about it and not in jail. They had to let me go. No probable cause to search and I didn't give them my consent.(good thing too)Now it goes down in the annuls of old school. You don't have to give consent to search, if they do anyway and lets say something got found, it could be thrown out in court because no consent was given. Appearances are everything. Whoever the LE's are trolling this site, up yours, LOL.

They could have been checking to see who you are. Even though they went through the whole spill and you didn't consent.

why did he pull you over to begin with and want to search your car?

and what did u have in your car where you could of gotten in trouble? what probably happened was your friend or that house you left is known for drugs so they thought you were there to buy. I don't want drug dealers in my neighborhood, I used to live in one where we had one and he would throw wild parties with 100 people throwing beer bottles in the road and fighting. i don't want trash in my neighborhood at all.

if you had steroids in your car then that is not smart. never carry them in your car, you never know what can happen. someone can find them, steal them, they can go bad in the heat, and you could get in a wreck where it would be found when they are cutting you out of the car. so no reason to risk it

Could be the cop never saw me before and was 'fishing', seeing who I was. Drug dealer? No. Drug dealer in my car? No What was in my car I could have gotten in trouble for? That will have to remain a mystery. I do notice LE doesn't play fair. If you don't know your rights they will walk all over you and build a case against you if they can and do it with your help, all the while saying they're trying to help you.(yeah right). If the cops want to talk to you, exercise your right to remain silent and ask for a lawyer.
Just a little tip; appearances are everything. If you get pulled over and look like the last member of the grateful dead following, have bloodshot eyes, wreak like weed, and the tip of a plastic baggy is sticking out from under a floormat, well, you're pretty much toast. But, if you get pulled over, the car is clean and neat, you look what they would call normal, and can articulate yourself well, then there's a pretty good chance you can get by. Even so, knowing your rights is key. That said, I would never waive my 5th amendment rights anyway(LOL) What was really going on? I plead the 5th.

^^^ okay kinda pointless story if you aren't gonna spill the whole beans. not sure if it would always work though.. if they have probable cause like see someone with a gag tied up in your backseat or a gun on the floor etc .. or they see burglary objects and lets say the neighborhood has a huge problem with theft lately .. i don't know how much your rights would matter in that case. i would hope they wouldn't let you go cause one thing i cannot stand is burglars and thieves who break into peoples homes and steal peoples shit. they should be shot on site.

The whole burglary idea doesn't really float my boat either. I know I wouldn't like it if someone ripped me off, thats why I wouldn't wanna do it to someone else. PLus, my two buddies, Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson wouldn't like it either. Its that whole what goes around comes around thing. Straight dealing is the best policy at every level, that way people know you as a straight shooter and aren't afraid to deal with you. Thats the old school way. Same thing with people running their mouth, if you can't trust someone with a little bit of information then I wouldn't deal with them at all. Its better to be safe. Old saying I heard "snitches get stiches". I dunno bout anyone else but I test people with tid bits of info and I wait to see if it goes anywhere, and if it does then I know who I can trust. Dude, the cops troll sites like this to see if they can bust someone. I wouldn't put my business all out there on front street telling what your ordering and when and all that and when its supposed to be coming in. Think about it. Its just inviting trouble.

Unfortunately there are ways around PC. The old "I smell weed in the car" has been used on me numerous times when there was no weed in the car. Bottom line is, if scumbag cops want to break your balls, they have ways around the law.
