on my way to the gym. All i see is black kids outside just sitting around, but its 35 degrees and they dont move and its been over 4 hours . In the summer, they will be outside for at least 18 hours. I noticed this because i see no whites doing this.

i thought about that but this isn't a drug area supposively. Yes i do see alot of cars driving by , they get up and talk so it seems for a couple minutes, because they block the road and you have to go around them
 
Um, maybe because they are kids with nothing to do but hangout. If they had a structured afternoon planned for them, maybe they would be there. I don't think race has anything to do with it. Near my job, its white, hispanic & black kids that hangout and do nothing or hangout at the McDonalds near the subway stop.

Sounds like an possible economic or family involvement (i.e., parents seeing that their children have a planned day) issue to me (waits for MTS' post).

yeah thats weird.

i was thinking the same thing when ever i step foot in a wal-mart.
fat white people everywhere. It seems like they live there.... im always in a hurry and they act like they have absolutly nothing to do. I noticed this because i see no blacks doing this.

its strange.

im completely sure 80% of EF havent left the country club or the trailer park... since thoes damn blackies got thier own Tv channel.

you all act like every other white kid the same age isnt slinging weed from thier parents house.

Surprisingly, I'm used to them now - but when I first moved in they woke me up every morning. 6am, 12 noon & 6pm every day - I don't even hear them anymore......thank goodness!

a pm but I got to this thread and had to step in and say something.

1. I don't make excuses for nefarious behavior, but steroetypes have to go. You are the resident at your gym. Find out what is going on at your gym. Folks on this list have no idea what's up at YOUR gym. If it's not kewl with you then report it.
2. If you are not going to step into this mess for fear for your own safety , then just ask around your gym. I'm sure others have witnessed and pondered the same situation
3. Why does a group of people who don't look like you bother you?

I live in a mixed area of black, white & Hispanic - inner city. We have kids that hang out on the corners & roam the streets in groups. They don't really bother me unless they are loud, vulgar & causing damage -- which a lot of them do.

But the city I live in wanted to pass a law disallowing anyone hanging out on corners. The ACLU stepped in & said since it's mostly black people that hang out on corners the law is discriminatory & racist as it's "Black people's civil right & it's their culture to hang out on the corners." The law never got passed & even if the groups cause trouble (there are a lot of fights for example) there's nothing we can do about it........the cops don't do anything.

Vision can comprehend something or ignore it. If what vision brings to light shows something that is problematic , then why is it problematic? What's odd about this situation. I used to live near Chicago and you couldn't go outside without sitting in 0 degree weather much less 35 degree weather for certain amounts of time.


I guess I don't see the problem here

The insinuation is that folks of color are selling drugs out of thier cars. So a good reason for sitting outside in cold weather is to make $$$
I'm sure the ACLU won't defend folks selling crack so I don't see the connection.

But I understand that loitering can culminate in crimes. I also understand that prevention is 1/2 the deal. So I understand your position

Well I guess my point was more on "it depends on what they're doing" if I were the thread starter if I were to do something about it.....

Like, around here, they mostly don't bother me unless they're doing something that bothers me - like screaming obcenities.

I personally would prefer if NO ONE hung out on the corner or in the street. Especially when they won't move out of your way if you're driving or walking.

I haven't noticed it at Wal-Mart. But I have seen it at Costco. Drives me nuts, like people forget how to drive. Pushin their carts down the middle, or left side of the aisle. Walking 3 or 4 abreast. Stopping & leaving their cart to go back & look at something. Aaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh. :chomp:
 
this kind of pisses me off because i doubt none of you have the experience of living in a bad neighborhood. mostly you'll just drive through and critique everyone. and when i say bad, i mean poor. ah, fuck it, nvm.......i'll never fucking reach any of you.
