If she died from complications from aborting a perfectly ok pregnancy would it be prochoice BS?

Their nation, their laws, dont like it then work to change it but you arent above the law because youre hindu.

How is it to allow a woman to die because of your religion? Just because the team is Cathlolic, they can refuse medical treatment? So if the doc's religion doesn't allow for blood transfusions and you are bleeding out, it ok to let you die painfully? Bullshit

And the baby was being miscarried. It was gonna die anyway. So why lose two lives?

Im not saying i disagree but you didnt read the part where they said it was THE LAW.
She wants yo be above the law because of her religion. Doesnt work like that.

I thought it said it's the law unless the mother's life is in danger. The problem here is that the docs weren't SURE her life was in danger. But they did know her health was in danger. The law is vague and they hid behind the fact that they were a catholic group. But if she had lived who would have complained? And they could have used the "what if's" to back their decision.

The law states abortion is allowed when mothers life is at risk, not when her health is at risk. Doctors have to make judgment calls all the time and looks like they erred on the side of the law this time. The docs are at a disadvantage because of the vague law but try to see it from their view if they break the law.
This story is getting a lot of attention because she is a minority with a different religion(always the good guy) in a white catholic country(always the bad guys) and the topic concerns the forever hot button issue of abortion. If she was perfectly healthy and died from complications resulting from selective abortion we wouldnt be hearing about it.

I guess they don't have much to do with each other. Logic tells me that pro-choice is right. Whatever you decide to do should be up to you. But I was born to a teenage mother so wtf would I look like supporting abortion when my mom would've been a prime candidate.

its a real conundrum and I could never push for abortion. even so, I don't think its the government's place to tell you what you should and shouldn't do with your body.

i'm assuming that a heart beat is heard in the 2nd and 3rd trimesters and not in the first, so a heart beat law would ban the former two abortions.
makes rational sense to me, i think that is fuct to abort that late in the game...and speaking of the right supposedly being too right and getting wall checked, listen to you ramble about deporting...do you really think obamaphoners/jobless hippies and hollytards vs country red staters? it would be a hippyphonetard massacre

We are hearing about it because this woman was in a relationship. Origionally did want to have the baby and was unfortunate enough to have a miscarriage. She died from an infection as a result of the miscarriage. If it had been cancer, they would have removed the mass. But because it an already dying baby, the docs used poor judgement and allowed the mother to die too. The issue here is when are pro-life laws going too far? In my opinion, the doctors took thier interpretation of the law went too far.

I also don't think that anyone is above the law because of their religion. On the same note doctors should not be treating patients based on their religion.

In a relationship? Dont know what that has to do with anything. News would have been the same if she was single and everything happened the same.
We already covered the ethical dilemma the docs were faced with. So now we are focusing one rare event where the politics of it all are overshadowing the realities. The reality is when talking about other nations laws, who the fuck are we to comment? I think we have had enough butting our noses into other countries affairs in the last decade.

while i agree the doctor made a poor decision, and i'm sure this will be reviewed and revised...their is another issue, and that is when is pro-choice laws going to far?
late trimester abortions?
post birth abortions? (baby meant to be aborted, but is born alive, then left to die)
i'm pro-choice to a point, but fuk how can any reasonable person support the above (which it seems a lot of the sandra fluke sorta pro-choicers adamntly do)

You have a really good point. There are so many gray areas, I imagine it would be very difficult for lawmakers to write law that would effectivly cover all of them.

I went to a religious school as a kid. They told us in very graphic ways what an abortion entailed. It's pretty horrific. I think that's one of the reasons why I wouldn't have one unless the baby were gonna die anyway. But I can make that decision for another woman.

Being in a relationship does make a difference. I don't think there would have been as much of an outcry if she had been single.

Abortion highly debated issue in the US. If republicans had more power we could be a pro-life nation. It's not so much about butting our nose into another country's business as much as it is a lesson about the dangers of a very general anti-abortion law.

The baby's heart starts to beat in the first or beginning of the second month. It's before you even know you are pregnant.

I'm pro-life, with exceptions. If the girl is raped or the baby will undoubtedly be stillborn or severely deformed to the point it is guaranteed to die, or threatens the life of the mother then abortion should be considered.

I sure as hell don't support abortion for dumbass teenage girls out banging every guy that will take her, or stupid parents not wrapping it up our using contraceptives in general for responsible parenthood.

If you get splurge in a cooch, you know the possibilities. If a girl ends up with a fertilized ova then you need tighten up your jock and take responsibility for your actions. If you can't be responsible enough to accept pregnancy, you shouldn't be taking your pants off anyways.

Use contraceptives, or if you are underage, keep your pants up.

Wrong. I didn't read the rest of this thread, so i'm sure someone clarified for you, but the HB is typically detected 4 weeks after conception, or 6weeks gestation. Not sure if that fact impacts your point or not,

When I was pregnant with my first son my mother tried to talk me into an abortion until I was about 5 months along. Before then I had never been disrespectful to her or my father. But I was ready to turn my back on them to have him. I felt like he was my purpose. So I get your point.


But the woman in Ireland was having a miscarriage. There was no way to save that child.and because of a vague law and religion she died too.
