I hope that thing weakens a lot - those wind speeds are bad.
We still don't have power yet here - more than half the homes here do now though - so we got that going for us.

Would it be wrong if I laughed at you the same way you do at me when we get 12 inches of snow?

j/k.....hope it weakens by them time it gets to you.

yeah this could be really bad for us Florida types.

So does this mean I can't have your torches?

Decem, Wrong as it has yet to hit the GulfStreams toasty waters.

Zero, I bet that would work if curling went out in one and threw some snake oil at it ..

Are you worried someone's gonna steal your milk crate and
ciderblock furniture ?

It wouldnt be the first time. You know how hard those giant cable spool coffee tables are to replace?

Florida only has one community that I am aware of that builds the structures in a way to actually survive 150mph winds.

I wish everyone luck and hope that doesn't get there.

They said that Fabian helped cool the waters - but if it goes over waters that Fabian didn't pass over, then no such luck.

Post pics of your hot neighbor before you get blown away!!!

DUDE !
She is half something exotic(P-Rican maybe), very petite , tan and is always telling us how much her husband travels on businesss.

Also she like working out in the front yard on her plants and such
in a bikini top drinking beer.

I never covet, but I do admire..

I dont' think we will have anything to worry about. Then again, it has rained every single day in S. Florida for the last three weeks so who knows?

This a similar path that andrew took. Instead of turning north as
usual, he kept coming right across FL...

Being down there on the end of America's Pee pee AAP,
I would be worried if I were you ..

I would bet a lot of money that this one won't hit Nebraska at all.

As for Florida, it sure does look like it will hit - that other tropical dealio (depression was it) that was going over Florida before and pushing Fabian up into us is... well, not there right now.

The building codes require 150+ survivability in the keys and in some of the south FL coastal regions. The keys also require new homes to have at least the bottom floor be concrete block or pured concrete.

As ou come inland, the requirementrs drop, but not by much. Anything oceanfront requries 130+ no matter where you are, and within 15 miles of the coast, you still need 110+ protection.

This only applies to new construction. The older homes are f**cked if a CAt 4 or Cat 5 storm hits.

Insurance, insurance, insurance.... that is what makes this world so good.

I just hope I can make it home on my flight Sunday.

What scares me are the large number of 3 story apartment bldgs
being put up here in Central Florida built totally of Wood frame and particle board siding...

I have owned 3 homes and will not consider anything but block.
Our current house is block with concrete filled core with hurricaine
straps sunk into this concrete along the roofline to the joists.

My concern is for the pool screened enclosure..

yea I'm really concerned b/c my house is wood framed. We're only about 40 miles from the beach also. I wouldn't mind riding through a cat 1 or 2 but we'd have to evacuate if this things comes at us at cat 3,4, or 5 strength

No big deal....he's used to being on the business end of a bunch of pee pees.

If you guys need me to head out to the eye of this storm and start spinning myself around in the opposite direction of it, just holler.

I don't understand this. Yesterday I did delts and tris and finished off delts with a burnout set of db laterals with the 130s. I guess I shouldn't have gone ahead and cropped my delts so that they'd fit into the avatar.

Spare room?

I have lenses that will show the pores on her skin from across the street.

Some friends of mine are pulling their boats out of Charleston this weekend and getting more plywood for their houses. We haven't taken a direct hit since Hugo, and this one looks like it will be a monster too. :(

I saw the news tonight. The weatherman alluded that Isabel will hit the Bahamas first, then veer North. Batten down the hatches.

That strom looks like it wants to turn homes into boats.

Lets hope it mellows out or there will be hell to pay. I'm surprised it isn't creating more news.

category 5 is insane - they stop categorizing it after that and label that as "catastrophic". I hope for the States sake that when the storm hits the Bahamas that it slows down a bit - but I'm not sure there is enough land mass there to do much to it.

I'm just glad that I finally got power back last night in my place and can move back in (was staying elsewhere that had power for the past two days).
