Warik, these people have no lives, yes, they are slaves to food and spend most of their lives in bed. I'm guessing you've never been fat - to the point where people make fun of you, throw food at you and drag you to the bottom emotionally.
They did it to themselves I guess you didn't read any of the bio's - most had bad upbringings or were influenced by their families habits.
I had hoped that the thread would have gotten more people thinking that they would have considered themselves lucky to be mobile, healthy, have sight and the ability to speak - but rather most site here and judge others according to some "standard" - and most of that is bullshit because it's pretty hard to imagine some of you getting off your asses and going to a gym.
Yeah, I feel sorry for them and I was once on that road to being morbidly obese [medical defination, being 120 pounds or more over your ideal weight].
Better watch out of those pounds will show up one morning and you'll turn into something you despise.

i think both are choices that people make, they develop some disease and die. i feel no sorrow for them. as these fat bitches ate themselves to death.
if you read, most of the fatties refused help. so they died.
they used bed sheets as clothes. damn that is huge.

I'd like to help these people and make some money while I'm at it. I'm thinking of making designer muumuus and custom reaching sticks.
Seriously though, what about their caretakers that just keep feeding them. I saw Hambone on Jerry Springer and his wife, or something, kept feeding buckets of fried chicken, all kinds of junk food and other garbarge to him. You'd think the people who take care of them would restrict their food intake since they're bedridden and can't get their own food.

They knew right from wrong. Being overweight or obese is one thing... being unable to physically move is another. I can imagine someone accidentally slipping into the overweight/obese category. I CANNOT undersatnd someone EATING THEMSELVES INTO OBLIVION like that. 1,600 POUNDS? I'm truly sorry, but I CANNOT FATHOM how someone got there without making a conscious effort.

I've always wondered how the hell these people afford to eat that much food.

i was fatt. i didnt even realise, the increasing waistlines look in mirror etc seemed oblivious to me, until i got teased about it.
teasing does actually serve a purpose. it might be enough to motivate a lard ass to get up and do some exercise. being ribbed by my friends, family, it had an affect on me. my bodyweight went down to 9 stone (from 10.5), but whole skinny i was still healthy and well within my BMI.
thing is though i think those people have a psychological problem. they have been driven to eating, or never grew out fo eating lots and as a result have got addicted to it. its just like drug use. they derive huge amounts of pleasure by eating food, particularlys those with a fat content. something happens in obese people which makes sensory information from fatty food result n more endorphins released etc, they get pleasure out of it, perhaps too much. as a result if like in one case i read they wire their jaw shut to reduce their caloririe intake, the dude drank blended chicken curry...its like he needed a hit.
its why when a kid gets teased about his waist and the shcool cracks down on it, part of me thinks 'ok well at least he wont be teased' while another part thnks if hell now continue to chow down on big macs again
i absolutely hate establishements like macdonalds making happy meals ect, purely because a child and his infantile mind will want to eat all this fried gunk for a kids toy, and as a result his parent may take him there again and again. i do actually get worried when i walk into one of these places and i see an overweight child having a happy meal put infront of him
