A year or so ago I closed a bank account because they let some prick bounce a check on my account, well they turned the check down and charged me a bounced check fee which put me in a negative balance, well I get another fee for going in the hole PLUS 5 bucks a day until I paid up. I found this out and argued with them about it to no avail. I HAD NO CHECKS IN MY NAME, never did, just my debit card. It took them a month to show any proof of this and then it was just a printout saying it was a 'Phone check'???? I have still no clue what the fuck that is, anyway the bastards put me on Chexsystems or something and now I can't get a bank account, so how the fuck am I to cash my paychecks without having to deposit them in someone's account and wait ten days fot it to clear???? Banks-Insurance and Lawyers are worse than the mob.

Even though you hate llawyers, sounds like it time for you to get one.

check cashing place or supermarket, they usually charge %1 or %2. that happenned to a friend of mine, he paid the overdraft amount and was able to open a bank account in a new state. i think your name will be removed from that database once the overdraft amount is paid. may need an attorney to negotiate or threaten litigation if the fines are getting out of hand.

Take them to small claims court and sue them. Once they are in court banks tend to cave pretty damn fast to avoid bad publicity. The lawyers will then figure out the problem and try to correct it. You probably wouldnt need a lawyer unless things get a little too complicated.

Do they know who you are???

Have they seen your numbers???

If not...you need to tell them and see if it intimidates them.

If the bank that your paycheck is drawn on is local you should be able to cash it there. Same thing happened with my bank a few years ago. My paycheck bounced... yes you read it right, my paycheck bounced, went into the negative and was charge $5 a day until it was paid. The big problem is that you don't even know you're in the negative until you get a statement in the mail a few days later. Luckily my employer paid all the extra costs and I was able to still use my account.
