This board should have a sticky at the top condeming steroid use by teenagers

I am 29. I started last year a few weeks shy of 28.

I didn't really get into training until I was 23 years old. As in bodybuilding... all my training previously was college exercises.

oh ok....and u dont look in your 30s at all....i just thought thats what i heard u say in a previous post

thanks

I see this thread quickly got side tracked by the teenagers, just recently been teenagers on board here who juice.

people, humans, usually try and help other people if they can, pass down knowledge type thing. People who don't take heed usually regret it. Thats one of the oldest stories around.

I started juicing at 19, I'm 39 now. I started training at 12, and started competing at 16 natural in the teen contests. Back then, we did smaller cycles like only Dbol tabs or anavar tabs. Then, only cypionate or Sus250 once a week. I would say AS has helped me stay alot younger-looking over the years, and I feel better than ever, although my joints tend to be stiffer nowadays after the almost 3 decades of lifting & wrestling. I put in almost 8 years of natural training before juicing. Like the one kid said, "some of these 'mature adults' train for only a year then want to juice!" I have also talked personally with high school football players and wrestlers and they tell me AS are not nearly infiltrating the high schools like the media would have us believe!

Why does it matter if you're at your natural potential? In order to exceed your natural potential you have to use AAS, and most like likely stay on it so you don't go back to your "natural" potential. Why not use until you reach your natural potential so then you can stay natural. :)

The concept of reaching natural potential seems very exagerated to me. Most people here say that you train for 3 or 4 years, reach your natural potential, and then go to use steroids because you really can't gain anymore.

In my opininon, this is very untrue. Three or four years is not even half the time it would take the average guy to reach its maximum natural potential. I know firsthand. I have been training for more than 8 years now (very seriously) and have only been interested in steroids and hgh now as an aid in rehabilitation. When I got injured I was still gaining and I'm nowhere near being a genetic freak.

It's true that the gains are faster in the first 3 or 4 years but it doesn't mean that it stops there. Sometimes, you can be stuck on a plateau for many many months and then one day you look at yourself and start noticing some improvement or start adding just five pouds to your personal best lift. Then another year later, another five pounds of muscle mass or weight lifted is added. It's not much but it all adds up at the end. I work in a fitness centre and I'm amazed at how many juicers are not even training more than 3 times a week, or just talking with their friends for half of their workout. Most people learn about steroids before they start doing squats, deadlifts or rows, How can you reach your genetic potential without even knowing how to squat properly?

When I wasn't on steroids, I was also very intense. I could puke on the harder workouts and then come back the next day and start over. IT's all about motivation. I think that the real reason why someone should consider using steroids is to see how far their body can go, how far the human machine is able to take them, with all the chemical need it entails. But don't tell me it's only for 30 years old who train a few years and reach their ''natural potential''!

I agree - I played basketball and football - two sports where steroids would more than likely be used. I only knew one person who used steroids in my highschool of 3,000 kids.

You're in DeKalb though. Where was your HS?
In the city there's a lot higher percentage of users.

My highschool was in the quad cities in Illinois - moline, east moline, davenport, bettendorf - total population is around 300,000 people.

I'm just saying - I went to a pretty large highschool (very competitive state-wise in sports as well) and in my experience all this highschool steroid talk is exaggerated.

Where did this notion come from that you reach your natural potential in 3-4 years? What is this based on? I started on AAS after 5 years of lifting and I left ALOT of natural growth on the table. I'd say it would've taken me 7-8 years at least.
