The concept of reaching natural potential seems very exagerated to me. Most people here say that you train for 3 or 4 years, reach your natural potential, and then go to use steroids because you really can't gain anymore.
In my opininon, this is very untrue. Three or four years is not even half the time it would take the average guy to reach its maximum natural potential. I know firsthand. I have been training for more than 8 years now (very seriously) and have only been interested in steroids and hgh now as an aid in rehabilitation. When I got injured I was still gaining and I'm nowhere near being a genetic freak.
It's true that the gains are faster in the first 3 or 4 years but it doesn't mean that it stops there. Sometimes, you can be stuck on a plateau for many many months and then one day you look at yourself and start noticing some improvement or start adding just five pouds to your personal best lift. Then another year later, another five pounds of muscle mass or weight lifted is added. It's not much but it all adds up at the end. I work in a fitness centre and I'm amazed at how many juicers are not even training more than 3 times a week, or just talking with their friends for half of their workout. Most people learn about steroids before they start doing squats, deadlifts or rows, How can you reach your genetic potential without even knowing how to squat properly?
When I wasn't on steroids, I was also very intense. I could puke on the harder workouts and then come back the next day and start over. IT's all about motivation. I think that the real reason why someone should consider using steroids is to see how far their body can go, how far the human machine is able to take them, with all the chemical need it entails. But don't tell me it's only for 30 years old who train a few years and reach their ''natural potential''!
