Things I hate about human nature

Hello i am prophet Scream. I will pop up now and again to share my wisdom. This is my first post. thank you

Why is it that we are creatures of comfort, unwillingness, and passive existence? What makes us so afraid that we would rather exist rather than apply effort to improve our very being?

Why is it that we would rather live in a pile of shit for hours, when it only takes minutes to turn that pile of shit into something we can be proud of?

Are we animals, an uncomplicated system where our only purpose is to breed, avoid confrontation or threat of extinction so we can breed then die? Why is it we are so obvious in are motives. Sex is a desire, it is a desire of the mind, not the soul, it can be, but it is a basic instinct we have very little control of.
No matter how advanced our technology, our science, our economy, thirst hunger, warmth, and reproduction are fundamental to human survival. We are supposed to be an intelligent species, yet some cannot control these basic necessities. We breed unnecessarily, eat too much, avoid thinking, and rely on our basic heuristic thinking processes. Are we really intelligent?

Generally no. But that is what separates men from the boys, winners from losers, and so on. Those clever enough to understand that we have to power to do anything, within reason, both positive and negative.

Human nature is such that we believe we are the best, we don’t want to know otherwise, we ignore our own weaknesses and believe too much in our strongest qualities, we trick ourselves into believing they are so much better than they really are. We all think we could be famous, get a degree, become rich, get a new job, make a better life for ourselves….

We become complacent and down right ignorant of our own abilities, we kid ourselves in believing we are more clever than the average person, that nothing bad will happen to us, as long as we don’t do nothing about it, we will remain vibrant and forceful…Not everyone is lucky enough to get a second chance in life. To see where we went wrong in the first place, before we know it is too late, we have been trapped by our own ignorance…by then it is too late, we may have a disease, through negligence, which could have been so easily prevented. Im not talking about an acquired disease such as AIDS’s. But neglect of the only thing we own - our bodies. We neglect them to the point that we know we neglect them, but do nothing about it, until its too late, and your family are being told that the person, frail and gaunt in the hospital bed only has a short while to live.

We eat poorly, as a previous lecturer once explained the cost-sunk fallacy is something that explains this. By doing nothing we make things worse, when they could have been easily prevented.

There are even those who decide to look for a cure to a condition but are too stubborn to even believe that the problem is staring them in the face. For example a destructive lifestyle, can be the cause of many conditions, but we ignore the fact we live poorly and look for ineffective alternative measures. In a way I oppose advertising, but in another way I feel no compassion for those that are “tricked”, into believing there are easy options. In a society where we have open access to books, computers, education and advice. We can be stupid enough to ignore the harsh realities that are upon us. There really is no excuse for not arming oneself with the basics of life…’prophet’ Scream BS.c FFN (Fire Fly Nation)

Hello, Prophet ...

I will tell you right now, that if you are going to post stuff like this, prepare to take a lot of crap....

Whats your point??

It’s not about making a point. There is no point in philosophy, we will never understand it completely. It’s about testing the boundaries and our understanding of human nature.

The reason I posted that or will continue to post "stuff" like that is because 1. Some guys on here are relatively intelligent compared to the average being, thus I know I will receive interesting and challenging views. We are all different Mr. Bullet, we have different rules and associations of life. It will be interesting to see the reactions of different subjects to my work.

2. I study psychology and my personal as well as academic interests are in nutrition and life sciences, thus I choose elite fitness to post this “stuff”.

There is really no point sir but to express enlightenment and creative thinking. Plus your American’s (majority) its is interesting to see how the diversity of thinking is different per country. Next question.

p.s if you dont see the point, youve missed it completely, because there is none.

FFN = Fire Fly Nation ask Citriscide, HappyScappy...This is Scream reincarnated (the joker of Triedia)...

My power is in irony...however, while my name is 'Prophet' Scream I will be serious.

Humm, you say we are over-confident of our own abilities, it is true. But what would be best? Tell ourselves that we are worthless and fall into depression? No thanks. I rather consider myself better then most than consider myself worse then everyone else. But thats just me.

No we are overconfident of our own "best" abilities to the point where we become disillusioned of our own real intellect. We concentrate on these mentally as we believe that focusing on our bad points is pointless, our faults are insignificant, because we feel that are own “good” abilities far surpass the need to change.

Thus we do not improve our "worst" attributes. If being self-critical of oneself is too difficult for one to attain then and drive them to depression. Then I would rather those that do, live in a cocoon in their own homogeneous pseudo-existence and believe and live in the delusion that have based around themselves.

Its not saying to oneself we are worthless. No individual should ever feel they have little self-worth CB, no matter what are faults are. That isn’t the path to improvement, rather expect are own faults and improve them.

If we cannot be self-critical then we will not improve as individuals. CB your point was interesting, not in relation to my original post, but how you yourself interpreted my post and wrote what you did.
