The substance may polymerize due to warming, under the influence of base(s), over 2% water, or temperatures above 184°C, or if not chemically stabilized, with fire or explosion hazard. On combustion, forms toxic and corrosive gases, including nitrogen oxides. The solution in water is a weak acid. Reacts violently with oxidants, hydrogen chloride in alcoholic mixtures, causing fire and explosion hazard.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS:
TLV: 4.7 ppm; 5 mg/m3 (ceiling values) (skin) (ACGIH 1997).
OSHA PEL: TWA 10 ppm (11 mg/m3) skin
NIOSH REL: ST 4.7 ppm (5 mg/m3) skin
NIOSH IDLH: 50 ppm

ROUTES OF EXPOSURE:
The substance can be absorbed into the body by inhalation, through the skin and by ingestion.

INHALATION RISK:
A harmful contamination of the air can be reached very quickly on evaporation of this substance at 20°C.

Ancient Beliefs
There are a lot of myths surrounding mistletoe. Vikings dating back to the eighth century believed that mistletoe had the power to raise humans from the dead, relating to the resurrection of Balder, the god of the summer sun.
Oklahoma!
Mistletoe is the state floral emblem of Oklahoma. Adopted in 1893, it is Oklahoma's oldest state symbol.

Balder had a dream that he was going to die. His mother, Frigga, the goddess of love and beauty, was frantic about his dream and said that if he died, everything on Earth would die. To ensure her son's safety, Frigga went to all of the elements -- air, fire, water and earth, as well as to all of the animals and plants -- and asked them not to kill Balder. In the same way a child would be heckled these days if his mother asked kids not to pick on her child, Balder was teased and had things thrown at him. It was thought that, because of his mother's power, he was immune to harm.

Balder's only enemy, Loki, found a loophole in Frigga's request for her son's safety -- mistletoe. Mistletoe grows on the tree it attaches itself to, and therefore has no roots of its own and could not be affected by Frigga's request. Loki made a poisoned dart with mistletoe, and tricked the blind brother of Balder, Hoder, into shooting the arrow that killed Balder.

For three days, all the elements tried their hardest to bring Balder back to life, but failed. Finally, the tears that Frigga cried for her dead son changed the red mistletoe berries to white, raising Balder from the dead. Frigga then reversed mistletoe's bad reputation, and kissed everyone who walked underneath it out of gratitude for getting her son back.

ARIES (March 21-April 19):
Behave with honor despite the demands of your inner animal. Honesty without strategy is a loose cannon. Be careful where you aim your next shot.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20):
If you want to be included, show that you care. Others will happily accept your offer once they notice it. Let the Gemini Moon work its changes before you carve your plans in stone.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21):
You're busy, in charge and having the time of your life. You'll forgive those who don't meet your high standards, but you may not call them back any time soon. The mind is a powerful thing in Gemini's world.

CANCER (June 22-July 22):
Growling at inconvenience won't make it go away. You may be hearing a personal insult where none was intended. Forget a few expectations and value your friends for the people that they are.

Caring about others is a delight rather than a burden. Famous, respected people offer good advice. Love is more about communication than it is about possession. Leo's heart speaks in a loud, clear voice.

VIRGO (August 23-September 22):
Confidence and reputation could carry you too far. The Gemini Moon should inspire a reality check even as it urges you to speed up. Be suspicious of those who show too much enthusiasm.

LIBRA (September 23-October 22):
Get ready for a few fast-paced, upbeat, exciting days. You're in tune with all manifestations of the season, whether social or natural. Your mouth is quick, but your mind is even quicker -- and that's how it should be.

SCORPIO (October 23-November 21):
Someone close to you is being unusually stubborn or foolish. If logic doesn't work, think of it as a safety issue. You'd rather share the winnings than chip in to cover a needless expense.

SAGITTARIUS (November 22- December 21):
Curiosity saves you from being tricked. Hypnotic subjects find their focus wandering. If you read the label too carefully, you may lose your appetite for whatever is in the box or bottle.

CAPRICORN (December 22-January 19):
To avoid the traffic, take a shortcut. Your conscience may bother you, but ask it to be quiet if no one else saw what you did. You'd sacrifice much in the service of a treasured ideal.

AQUARIUS (January 20-February 18):
Live within this excellent moment, and it will lead you to another and another. Lovers and artists find that they have more control than usual over what passes for reality. Amazement has many uses.

PISCES (February 19-March 20):
The Gemini Moon shines unfavorably on your ambitious plans. Step back before you're committed by someone else noticing you. This is an ideal chance to take it back to the drawing board and make it even better.

We've got a couple around. I think most are out enjoying their Friday night. :) But we are sitting at home in front of our computers instead. What's wrong with this picture?

Little cousins scared me away. I ran away to the gym in the peaceful surroundings of meaty men and clanging metal. How you doing, Sponge?

Maybe you should uninstall Explorer and aol.

That's a good reason. I got invited to a party tonight and then there was another going to see this band perform, but I just kind of felt like staying in tonight. I think I must not have recovered from last night. WHo knows?

a friend of mine started a new band and was playing tonight too but i knew if i went for just a bit it would turn into a late night. 12 hour shifts are too long for being hungover.

Good to know Sponge. And 68, you're tempted anyway, aren't you?

I am tempted...

I was going to say to your comment on not being a cheap date, that you were an expensive hooker--but that's mean. We all know you aren't a hooker...are you?

i don't have any standards. it's all good! just kidding. i really don't like an easy lay in real life (not that you are pc).

Thanks. I feel the love. I actually am really picky in real life when it comes to men in real life. Although it seems that lately my taste could be criticized. But we won't go there.

Dammit, I go out to rent a movie, come back to watch my movie, and guess what, my dads got his friend over and is in the next room over blasting his guitars. I finally just now got my room back, my sister was on the computer for the last hour also. Blah blah blah blah

stopped by a friend's house and got somethin to eat....I'm in no partying mood tonight anyway...I'm getting old

you have no excuse then. when i was 20 i was out every night, going to work the next morning and so on and so on. actually, i was in the service at that time and partied with some crazy mf's-good memories.

Nah...I think that just b/c I'm 20 doesn't mean I should be messing up and partying my ass off...

I partied my ass off from age 15-19....drank WAY too much and went to too many bars and clubs....I played out the whole scene...I was so unhealthy...I'm addicted to this healthier lifestyle I have now...don't get me wrong, I still go out to clubs sometimes but not all the time like I used to....

good for you! really! i know at times i got myself into some trouble with all that partying. i should have chilled some.
