A friend of mine who is currently a little overweight (6'1 210lbs, 23-25% bf) wants to run some AAS... before I even had to tell him, he said to me, "I am going to weight until I am sub-16% bf and have built up a good base.. maybe in 18-24 months I'll run a simple test only cycle"

He's 21 years old and has trained on and off but since coming to college he has let himself go a little bit (I think we've all been there)..

Just thought I'd share that with you guys since we seem to get the polar-opposite of my buddy in here on a regular basis. :Chef:

P.S. He picked up some Thermorexin 13 days ago and has lost 5.5 lbs :)
 
this thermorexin sounds like some good stuff, I am going to go on levorex tomorrow and see what happens there.
 
Remember, levorex isn't a miracle pill - give it a few weeks to show some real results, though you should feel the thermogenic properties begin to take place relatively soon.

and why do you need to be under a certain bf % to cycle?
ive never understood why people say this!?!
it all depends on your goal right?
if your long term goal is to be bigger i.e. bulk up, why do you need to cut weight first?
and if your friends goal is to be 185 lean why does he need to cycle?

23% bodyfat is overweight if you're a guy, bro.. especially if you're doing something to improve your physique, why let it get masked by fat?

people also recommend someone waits until they're bf is lower so that they know whether or not they actually have the dedication and mindset to take their body's seriously.. if you cant lose some weight, you shouldnt be using anabolic steroids.

And when did i say his ultimate goal was 185 lean?

i was saying 185 and lean for refrence,
because if hes not trying to lose weight then why in the fuck does he need to lose weight before he should cycle?
a good base and dedication dont neccassarily (sp) translate into losing some weight.
UNLESS that is his goal,
so i re-interate, for that goal one doesnt need to cycle,
and "troll" these nuts.

probably wasnt the smartest thing to say..

a fat kid who does AAS and gets big, is still a fat kid.. with muscle underneath his fat.. if you like lookin like the marshmallow man, WEEEEE

everyones goal isnt the same, some would like to look smaller and lean,
some want to be big,and a simple fact is your not going to stay 10% bf and grow ffrom 200 to 250 or 230 for that matter.

all i was fuking saying is if he wants to get bigger then i dont believe that he needs to lose weight first, and if he wants to get lean then he can do so without cycling, so whats the fucking point of yo- yo-ing un-neccassarily (sp)

thers only one goal for which aas is needed, to gain muscle that without the extra hormones your body wouldnt keep,
since that doesnt seem to be the case with 90% of the people here they must be using just to get a boost and or a quicker way, so i say why wait for that?
 
I agree with the weight issue, however, being over weight can stress the cardio system. So being over weight and on aas is a risk. Other than the risk of heart disease, I wouldn't think it would matter if a guy was over weight. Look at power lifters. Not all are fat, but a shit load are fat and they obviously cycle, because their goal is to be as big and strong as humanly possible.

and this is what i mean,
if he wants to get cut why not run a cutter?
if he wants more size why not bulk?
if he is brand new to lifting and needs to learn diet and routine, fine wait

but i dont think that where you start bf% wise is relevent to if you should use or not.

The point Mikefear was trying to make was that people should not just rush to the dark side. Someone should get their training in line and their diet in check. Those two alone will cause that person to naturally lean down. When all that is said and done and the person is ready to take that step, then their body will be ready.

just never understood why there was a magic bf% # at which you could start your cycle. :martini:

there isn't, but i did already explain my reasoning..

i'll reiterate.. it's a good idea for an overweight person to get down to a good size before he starts because it shows that they have the dedicatino to get THAT far.. any fat blob can just hop on anabolics and get stronger and build muscle for the short-term.. the point is that if they dont have the dedication, willpower and know-how to get into good shape to begin with, he probably has NO business getting involved in something advanced as steroids.

there was no disrespect taken, just seemed like you wanted to argue for no apparent reason.

I see a lot of good in having him drop the weight before steroids. first of all it teaches discipline, too many people are dependant on steroids to change their body.
 
Call me crazy but I use AAS to gain weight and muscle.

Point being...if your fat, and your physique needs trimming - why use steroids? I know they are fun but sheesh....Your boy made a wise decision. Wish I would have done the same about 3 years ago.

One of the major sites of aromatization is adipocytes, fat cells. Reducing the amount of body fat decreases estrogen levels when exogenous test is present. Estrogen also promotes fat storage, which in turn creates more estrogen. It's a cycle. One feeds the other and vice versa.
