All this talk about strenght is silly. What is strong? Compared to the average individual being able to pump out a set of pullups, dips and bench with 225 for 20 reps all without rest is pretty strong. Squatting 315 for 20 and deadlifting 400 X 10 then running a 6 minute mile is strong enough for me. What's the point of being stronger? I don't carry rocks for a living, i like being conditioned and flexible and looking like a BB. I do not need painfull joints and tendons later on because of ego lifting.

It takes more practice to build a good body using less weight, heave is just brainless. Incidentally Arnold was not ver strong and usually stretched the truth about his lifts. I have pictures of him squatting with 315 saying he was doing reps with 450, whatever, i can count plates. he did the same with his bench.

And as a last point who gives a shit about figting? Andrew Golota could knock just about any lifer out cold and can't bench 300. Grow up with all this who will kick who's ass, who cares.

Again, goals goals goals.

Right.

I grew out of the strong 275lb bodybuilder stage. screw that, that's a road to nowhere. Conditioning for down hill skiing is where it's at for me now. What the hell do i need a 600lb squat for?

You probably don't, but a 600lbs squat is more appealing to me than being 275lbs ...

Just depends on your goals I guess. :)

yes it does depend on your goals, but in undertaking a goal remember that they change as time goes on, so take that to mean whatever you want being on the Anabolics board.

Good Luck.

Not quite sure what you are implying, but I am not gonna be taking anything for a longgggg time.

I just like reading some of the posts here.

Gwl,this is all a road to nowhere if you think about it. Nothing is permanent and likely none of us will use our good bodybuilding looks or strength gains to do anything constructive or win us a nobel prize. I can push the machine to perform at higher and higher levels every time i attack the weights. I want the hemi motor. You choose to change the color scheme, tint the windows and slap mag wheels on it. That's fine,it's just not my plan of attack and seems more superficial than spartan.

Well i think that there is a limit on functional strenght in where you reach a point of it being useless unless you compete in strenght events, that's all.

I'll play along with your anology (it's a good one) in saying that yes i like the rims, custom paint, tints, and rims or mag wheels as you put it, BUT i also install a Twin Turbo 3.0 V6 running high boost. See? Very powerfull but NOT as powerfull as a fully blown hemi. In fact a hemi like that is hardly streetable, see my point? but powerfull? YES.

To each their own but what's almost funny to me is those Dino guys. You know, guys who lift rocks, anvils, cinder blocks, lawn mowers, whatever...all in an effort to build "functional" strength, whatever the hell that means. Anyway, on boards that cater to such lifters, some of them go on about how they are strong but do not look it. They actually brag about looking untrained. No shit; I've seen it.
