The Zombie Apocalypse is upon us: Pick 5 EF members to fight for survival

How many marines and soldiers died because MacArthur chose to threaten and provoke the Chinese by pursuing the war above the 38th parallel, against an executive order specifically forbidding it unless there was major Soviet or Chinese intervention? Last time I checked, United States military personnel are subservient to the civilian government and take an oath to that effect. If you disagree with the civilian policy you leave the service by resigning your commission, that's a Prussian tradition. Perhaps Mac saw himself as the modern Caesar and limited war couldn't be reconciled in his world view so he decided to "cross the Rubicon" with his nuke threats?

Finally, I doubt a 4th grader has the knowledge of history to challenge your marine mythology; Look at the order of battle for the major pacific campaigns...Europe was given the priority and the United States Army was not only tasked with doing all the fighting in Europe but also the heavy lifting in the Asian theater....compare the GDP of Japan in 1940 and the United States...the outcome was obvious. I know you were indoctrinated to believe a marine with a K-bar could kill Godzilla, Superman, Batman and the Hulk simultaneously but believing something doesn't make it true. Just sayin'.

Yawn......

You win bro!

I know you know more than I do about history and eco. Tell that to the Chair of the History Department at Youngstown State University, considering I was grandfathered in full time with a masters. Speaking of which I have to start attending to that, so I will not have time to fill in the holes of your swiss cheese posts, and you won't be able to cut and paste my posts and use them a couple weeks later.

My record speaks for its self. Look at your girlfriends posts! Back in June she barely could write two sentences about: history, philosophy, religion. Now she's writing four to five page essays. How do you think she got so good? Sign of an excellent teacher, wouldn't you say?

Here's some advice, come up out of the wilderness and be with that contentious woman because she's the only one on the planet that takes you serious...

I hear you are from Ohio, so come and sit in on one of my classes, you have an open invitation. PM me and I'll give you my real name and schedule.. Just give me a weeks notice prior to coming. I'm serious, you are more than welcome to come and sit in... I think it would be fun.

Can i come and sit in as well? And just FYI, there's gonna be an ass kicking after class, ya know if Java decides to come. :D

Slight digression but they're filming scenes for World War Z a few miles from here. The book was high octane awesome so here's hoping the flick follows suit!

I really don't want to get in your conversation about marines being better whatever whatever...but unfortunately I've been making long embarrassing essay like posts like I have been for over three years here. It's sad to say, but anyone that can use the search feature can see that and read for themselves. Java will probably bust up laughing when he reads that considering we dated in 2010. Without ledhead, I couldn't put two organized thoughts together, much less have any thoughts of my own. I wont make some arrogant self assertion either, though I kinda want to and I'm prepared to. My thoughts are mine. My posts in the creation thread about history? Those posts came from what I've read in the past 6 months or so..two of them off the top of my head are Reasonable Faith by William Lane Craig - chapter 5 The Problem of Historical Knowledge and The Jesus Legend: A Case for the Historical Reliability of the Synoptic Jesus Tradition...mostly from reading part 2 chapter 4: A Conspiracy of Silence? What Ancient Non-Christian Sources Say, and Do Not Say, about Jesus. We have talked about philosophy, Kant in particular but that has nothing to do with anything. You did send me some stuff on deeper religious topics and I do thank you for that. Please don't act like I'm some lost kitten looking for someone to tell me what to think and if you want to use the search function to see for yourself, please go ahead. You are an intelligent man and an excellent teacher I'm sure. Good luck going back and try to stay drama free. :)

Oh and yes, I know that I am probably the angry and contentious women that java is referring to in his signature. Oh well! It is part of my personality and a normal emotional response to certain things, and well I'm a woman. lol As Dorthy Parker would say "Take me or leave me; or, as is the usual order of things, both" :D

True story, my world history class section II, I had a professor that claimed blitzkrieg was an economic philosophy of limited war (he is a German farming historian so you can't expect much); Completely untrue and inaccurate...I was able to quote Liddell Hart in my response on the midterm from memory because I had written a couple of papers on WWII in high school; I got a C on the exam because he had the power to assign grades. I ended up with an A in the class because I realized regurgitating what the person grading you believes is better than arguing the facts. At least when I took graduate level classes a well argued position was given credit. Basically, teaching a class doesn't make you an expert...how many papers have you published in peer reviewed journals? How many of those relate directly to the subjects you teach?

BTW, the best thing to ever come out of Youngstown State was Jim Tressel...One of my roommates attended Youngstown state before he wanted to be in a real program.
