A person pumping gas into this car at the Sunoco gas station in Manassas, Virginia, was shot and killed Wednesday night.
MANASSAS, Virginia (CNN) -- A man was killed Wednesday night while pumping gas at a gas station here, and authorities were investigating whether the incident was connected with the string of sniper shootings that has already claimed six lives in the Washington area.
Dennis Mangan, a detective with the Prince William County Police Department, said the shooting happened at a Sunoco gas station around 8:15 p.m.
Asked whether it was linked to the sniper shootings, Mangan said, "It's too early to tell. We can't really rule it out."
Prince William County police spokeswoman Sgt. Kim Chinn said some witnesses were talking to police, but she would not give details on what they saw.
Video of the scene showed a person slumped between a gas pump and his car in a pool of blood. Chinn said investigators had not established the victim's identity.
Dozens of police were on the scene, which was sealed off by yellow crime scene tape.
Jeff Hintosh, a 19-year-old waiter at a nearby Shoney's, said he and his co-workers heard a single shot and did not see a fleeing vehicle or anything else.
Manassas is a suburb of about 35,000 people, southwest of the nation's capitol.
Wednesday's shooting comes exactly one week after the first shooting was reported in Montgomery County, Maryland.
The Montgomery County Police Department, which is leading the sniper investigation, said it was sending a team of investigators to the scene.

Well yes, but my point was that it if you want to be a Serial Killer in this Country, you should have a more impressive M.O than that. Either way, I hope they get the dude. It's amazing to me how someone can be so disturbed that they could just start killing people they don't even know. I can logically understand if someone has enough rage and hate towards someone that they kill them, but just one person at random?

That is definitely some scary stuff. All of you people in the Maryland/DC/VA area stay safe. This will definitely go down in history much like the Summer of Sam and other horrible serial killings. Hopefully they'll get this scumbag sooner than later.
And did you guys here about the tarot card that they found?? It was found next to one of the shell casings. It was the death card and had written on it "Dear Policeman....I am god". This guy is one sick individual

I didn't hear about that. Ya, he's taunting the shit out of them that's for damn sure! He's isn't very original, because his mothod of operation mimics that of both the Zodiac Killer of 1970's San Francisco fame(who was never caught), and Son of Sam. It's only a matter of time fellas, believe me. If he is leaving clues( Shell casings, and now these Tarot Cards) just lying around DARING the Feds to pop him, they will. This dude wants to be caught! You see, getting caught actually adds to his mystique if you will. That's part of his game, and how these guys operate. You can't go down in history as an infamous Serial Killer if you're never caught and noone knows your name. They'll get him.
I have been saying all along that it is a terrorist. This is an easy way to take out americans one by one. .223 is a NATO round and the fact that he is leaving the brass behind leads me to believe that the gun he is using is an auto loader that spits out the spent shells after firing. He probably does not want to stick around long enough to look for them. If it were a bolt action he could just shoot, leave, and jack the shell out later, unless he is taking multiple shots. Even then he could just jack the shell out into his hand.

I think they will find this guy, eventually. Many people might think its paranoid to think this way but I think you should live every day somewhat suspicious, you never know if this shit could happen to you, there isn't much you can do about being sniped obviously, but paying attention to what goes on around you can be a help in other situations instead of being blind to something.
