I called the offices of senators:

Senator Diane Feinstein

and

Senator Barbara Boxer

and asked they vote no / oppose S.722

I called Representative George Miller (CA 7th district) first and they said the Senate will be voting on it first. (Is that want the S is for in S.722 ?)

Please everyone call their Senators and Representative and tell them to Oppose S.722 or we will vote them out of office.

It is our country and we make the rules!

My next step is to follow-up with emails to each of them.

thats what im guessing at. i doubt they will get enough calls to prevent this from happening.

With that kind of attitude of course not. Personally I'm doing my part and telling every supplement user I know (which is a lot). Your congressman does not need a majority of voters to call. He just needs a significant amount to call so he realizes that this is actually an important issue to his potential voters. Nobody is going to call to support this ban, except for maybe pharmaceutical lobbyists, so your calls really do count.

we had petitions, politicians who were pro-supplements, famous people who lobbied e.g. Paul McCartney, Elton John... we had thousands of letters written.. we had the house of lords reject the motion (alas they have no power).. and our (UK) still got voted in.. in fact, the UK govt RIGGED the vote to ensure it would go through.. Tony Blair and co obviously believe this is good for the pharma industry.

Funny, now that I think of that term "public service" it is just obscene to think they are somehow doing us a service.

Even if we/you win this time..

The codex will rear its head again and again.................

Misinformation and propaganda are powerful things.... the only thing that can put an end to this codex is stopping pharma companies from donating to poltical parties.

I don't know how many UK people are on the boards.. but they must spread the message that the supplement ban is already law i.e. it has been passed and will come into effect in 2005. The UK media currently have a total blackout on this issue.. which is very sinister and indicates the lengths commercial entities will go to protect self-interest (presumably pharma advertising?).
