The ones that got away

Freak Show

New member
Does anyone have a boyfriend/girlfriend that they let get away? Anyone you think of often and regret not being with any more? Was it cuz you or they fucked it up or was it just not meant to be?
My last gf was someone I thought I would spend the rest of my life with. Now it seems that we both want different things. I still love her to death and hope that one day we can work things out but for now we just gotta do our own thing for a while. I can't help but hope she's still around in a few years when we're both more ready to settle down.

Never regret relationships that didn't work out.

What you should regret are the potential relationships you didn't have the chance at because you were to afraid of rejection to reach out to someone you didn't know.

Oh, but to answer your question, I've been known to lament on occassion but not regret.

Hang in there Freak Show.

(Heaven knows I need some company while I try and hang in there too.)

i'm right in the same boat with you freak show... i know exactly what you mean
me and my last girl broke up mainly bc i fucked up.... she wanted to give it another chance but i fucked up there too... now i totaly regret it and we dont even talk bc its too hard for me to talk to her..... i too can only hope things will work back out later on down the road.

its fucked up bc i've had plenty of girls after her, but no one comes close to her, i compare every girl i'm wiht to her, and they dont match up, so i let them go, its like i'm incapable of another relationship

Yes.

Anyone you think of often

Yes.

and regret not being with any more?

Don't know.

Was it cuz you or they fucked it up or was it just not meant to be?

Again, don't know.

Yes,

Several as a matter of fact...and each and everyone of them remains special. Reflecting on it, perhaps it was for the better, or so I thought at the time...in hindsight, I guess I'll never know the answer for sure...

Not that any of it matters now...But the moments, and time we shared will out last a lifetime...all I can ask for, and the best I can do...:)

As we speak, there is a woman in my life that I want very badly to fuck again. Unfortunately, I dissed her for another girl and now I'm being punished for it. She was a damn good lay. At least as good as the girl I dissed her for and much, much more fun to be with. I guess I got lost in the chase.

<blush> It comes with experience, and knowing when to admit ya fucked up Darl'in....I have both in fact, and the patience of an oyster to go with them....;)

I think Coyote Shivers said it best:

"I'd rather be missing you, than wishing you were gone."

If anything, I miss the person that I thought I was dating. You know, the one with no flaws, didn't get fat, and never bitched. The memory is almost always better than the reality in a situation like this.

This is very true. I remember thinking this very thing when my ex asked me "Do you miss me?". I answered "No", thinking that in all honesty that I didn't miss the person that I now saw her for. Now, if the question had've been "Do you miss the person you thought I was?"...well, this is where the lamenting comes in.

BTW, who the hell is Coyote Shivers???

Coyote Shivers is a rock singer from Canada. He writes some pretty good lines. Another fave of mine is, "Well you can suck my cock, 'til a million o'clock."

He sounds a lot like the Ramones, and one of his songs is about seeing their farewell show.
