The New Mustang

New member
Anybody like the new Mustang for '05? I have a 99 GT and really like that years design. The '05 looks really retro and I like it. Like a 65 fastback. It also has a new 3valve 4.6 that makes about 40 more HP then mine:bawling:. I spent way too much getting my car to 300 HP.

Oh well I think a black one would look really good in my garage.

I can't freakin wait. They are being released fall of this year. Depending on if I can afford it, I wanna see if I can lease the 05 gt then turn it in the next year when the cobra comes out.

no car in the world songs better then a V-8 mustang NOTHIN

even better sounding then the ferrari 575 m

love the new stangs... cool like the old ones with all the modern comforts....

I like the look alot. Haven't seen one in person yet though. Next week is the Phily auto show, I might drive down just to see the Mustang in person.

I used to have a '94 Z28 6-spd, but I had to sell it when I got married and bought a house.:bawling: I've regretted it ever since and the new stang is the first car to make me consider buying a sports car again. I won't know for sure until I drive it though, I hate how the current body style stangs drive. They handle like a sedan and sound like a pussy car. My Z28 FELT like a muscle car, and it had a sound that rivals my Harley on the pleasure scale.

If the new stang is as lifeless (IMHO) as the current one, then I won't bother buying it. I may actually just buy a used Z instead...

Just don't like the wheels. That's easy enough to change. I had Cobra R's on mine before it was 2 years old anyway.

Yea the wheels need to be changed but man oh man I can't wait

They should have kept the upper and lower scoops in the design...

and it will be like 25 for the v6, more for the GT....

Isn't it like 17k now for the starndard V6 and 27k for the GT for the current models?

I read in a mag expected price is like 23999 or 25999 for the v6....

not saying it is true, just what I read bro...

Here's a quick photoshop of the stang with some rims. Gimme some rim brands and I'll photoshop them on

How about the Ford Racing 2000 Cobra R's? you can find them at any discount tire.com type places.

Sorry dude- just what I heard....

"It's real close in price to what you've seen for the last 4 years. About $20,000 for a 300 HP race car. VROOOMMMMM"

And 300 HP will be a lot closer to 30K than 20K either way....

from the ford site for 2004s:

Mustang Coupe
MSRP: $18,660*

Mustang GT Coupe
MSRP: $24,185*

Starting Manufacturers Retail Price, excluding taxes, title and registration fees. Optional equipment not included.

-And I don't see them getting any cheaper.... (dude I am a bigtime mustang fan, I WISH they would go down in price)

Bring your stang to my neck of the woods and I'll show you that it is a pooch.

I wouldn't pay MSRP if I had just won the lottery. I paid $20,000 for a fully loaded 99 GT so I bet you can at least wack $3000 off that for rebate, or the art of badgering a salesman.

I highly doubt they will go much below msrp at first. The new stang is the most anticipated Ford in a loooong time. Demand will be very high for these suckers

Yep- I think they will go up at least 1000-1500 over this years models, and I don't see getting much of a discount on them... they will sell a ton of em regardless....

I like that the guages have the same number font/look as in my old 68....

I hope bigger inside than the 99 though- I feel like a sardine in a can in those...
