The must be the worst or at least the 2nd worst day in Houston sports history

come on TX you can't Boo hakeen :) , I agree with the rockets on this move, we gotta do whats best for the team, and it was not in our best interest to pay his ass 13 mil.

If this were steve francis leaving or some other young guy, then he deserves to be booed, but the city of Houston owes so much to Hakeem. I can't even begin to talk about it.

When I hear the words Clutch City it brings back the best memories I have of Houston, and I owe it all to Hakeem. This was a big slap in the face to Houston, but I don't think anyone has the right to boo him for it. I respect his, and the rockets decision, even though I'm not happy with it.

This SUCKS!

I grew up in Houston, and I was there when the Rockets Clutched the Finals back-to-back. Dream is Houston, and vice versa, Houston made Dream.......but Dream should have taken less money, 13 mil, that was more than fair for a great player at the end of his career. He felt insulted and wanted the big money, but the luxury tax shut that down. I am still a big fan of his, there was no better big man Including ShaQ when Dream was in his prime.....Shaq maybe more forceful and dominating now, but Dream was quicker, shot better free throws, and played All world defense regardless of who was coaching. I am PISSED he felt he had to go........... Besides that, Houston is on the way up, he had more help there than in Toronto with V Carter's ball hogging ass!

Not so sure about Houston being on the way up.

Hakeem is 38....Toronto was one shot away from the conference finals.....Houston will NEVER get out of the west while the Lakers are together, so Dream wants another shot at a title.

Matt

You're right, I said that they were on the way up, they won't get past LA unless Shaq gets hurt, but he should have stayed, Toronto isn't going anywhere either.....they loss C. Oakley. He was the reason VC came out of his funky weak game during the playoffs and started playing. Don't underestimate the importance of having a vet like that. an enforcer. Toronto won't get past Philly, or Indiana. Looking for more from Indiana than Toronto. Dream can't handle Mutombo anymore, and he is fragile now. My fav player, but the truth is, he is no closer, I know he has always liked Canada......He has spent quite a bit of time in Vancouver during the offseasons.
