I saw a Belgian movie the other day, biggest production of the year in a small pond, it was crazy it was about an ex junkie woman with a beautiful teen daughter and a retarded son, who got married to a relatively succesful businessman. This new family has a dog and they had to put it down, but they couldn´t tell the kids.
The whole movie you see the husband as this alcoholic pervert who spies on his stephdaughter and flirts with hotties at work who want to get ahead. His stephdaughter accuses him of abusing her and he finally gets arrested after in the house they find a box full of the girls panties that she lost, and homemade video tapes of her in the bath and on a nude beach where she keeps telling the cameraman to stop it. The whole town crucifies this guy and he gets put in prison and everybody hates him and he loses his job and will never work in this town again.
The last scene you see the 15 yr old girl in the room with her retarded brother and he has a box full of panties and bras under his bed and he´s holding them to his face. She´s playing with him, changing in front of him. (He´s normal looking, just mentally simple). The wife finds another video of her taking a bath and hears the brothers voice in it.
The daughter found out her stephfather "killed her dog" and she´s still angry over her dad leaving and throws a tantrum about how everybody she loves has to go away and that´s why she reported her stepdad.
Towards the end of the movie you start to see the father really just wanted to try and father his new children and never laid hand on her, didn´t really drink all that much and actually turned down a smoking hot employee who wanted to fuck for a recommendation... Everybody in the film is fooled that he´s evil, including the viewer, until the end. The wife grows back into a junkie over the same timespan, getting irrational and high again.
It´s a very depressing sexism inducing movie and the sad part is this stuff happens too. The guys life is over, he worked hard all his life and did well and even took up a woman with mounds of baggage and gave her a new shot and he gets OWNED.
I was an angry man ready to slap rape some bitches after this.
