dullboy used to be a member of similar sized music msg board a looong time ago and this is all eerily familiar to him.

the owners of the board became a little greedy and the members basically unionized.

which is exactly what's happening here.

it sucks when members loose their innocence and realize that all of their posts are just traffic numbers used to sell advertising and cross market products and services.

I realized that this place was designed to make $$$ about a month into being a member here.

I'm ok with that. I doubt anyone here would maintain a site if it cost them money out of their pocked. They wouldn't spend the time required to keep it going if it just broke even.

There's a lot of good here and some back, you have to take away what is positive and leave the negative. Many members have been here for many years and avoided all drama and bullshit. It is possible.
