I must admit, after watching it on Netflix, it was a good watch. It may be contrived and have all the douchey angst of a teen movie but the theme was solid.

Decent flick, but the author is a theif who clearly stole the plot of Battle Royale, and mixed in a little Clockwork Orange for the look of the characters then dumbed it down and cleaned it up for American teens.

All art is derivative to an extent but A Clockwork Orange is a good analogy,

Yeah, that's why I try to evaluate movies and TV adaptations independently of their source.

book is always better then the movie.this movie was pretty good though
