No..its bad enough that our bank, which is a military bank, sent out a notice that they would cover anyones Oct 15th LES and are set up to grant emergency extensions of credit through the checking accounts, Navcheck (a checking based LOC thats attached to the checking account) and all Credit cards through them with a short term 0% interest rate.
that got my attention because its the first time I've ever seen it come up through this bank.
I thought they had delayed any vote till after next year, thus protecting more of the dems in congress??

15 OCT LES?![]()
well..I just checked it out how it affects my house..no va disability in the event of a shutdown
thats a bummer
but hey, at least I'm not trying to process a gun permit or a passport right now
edited to add; I retract that..apparently the va has a contingency plan in place because they were caught with their pants down in 95' and 96'
I wonder how long it is sustainable
Your fine and funded for a whole year. The va is mandated to have the budget voted on and in place a year in advanced due to what happened in 95 so all vets are covered
They need to pass a bill that takes care of vets even when a shutdown is in place.

Shut that shit down, the less government the better
Reps: "Who's gonna pay, and with what funds?" Dems: "Worry about that later... We want it all and we want it now, and we want it free (paid for by the hated rich people)!" Reps: "That's why we're rich & you're poor"
Well said!
I think it would be a great opportunity to just fire the entire Federal Government, and start over.
They're 100% dysfunctional the way it is. Dems: "The people deserve x, y , & z"

There should be a requirement for anyone running for public office: Must have owned and operated a business, and must have started out poor and became secure by hard work and smart thinking. Must have credit cards with a history of paying entire balance every month, and never putting things on the cards that aren't able to be paid immediately. Must have been forced to go without a necessity because of a previous mistake in finances, and must have recovered successfully with the financial help of others.

On October the 15th they both -Reps and Dems- have to agree in raising the maximum Federal debt so the Treasure will be able to pay the debt and the Administration...

as I thought the VA contingency plan only operates on the short term
so that's fucking awesome
“Those benefits are provided through appropriated mandatory funding, and that funding will run out by late October,” said the VA statement. “At that point, VA will be unable to make any payments.”
and I called to check on this...I was only on hold for 42 minutes which is actually outstanding for the VA
way to go in holding up the norm for the call center!!

doesn't get straightened out by when?
they're saying they have a cpl weeks worth of budget to cover VA disability, pensions, gi bill
after that they're out and won't be issuing monthly checks..
I didn't ask about VA medical/healthcare on the phone because I wont set foot inside the place anyway or use their lousy tricare
"congressional leaders are puzzled"
the VA had a misleading statement regarding a government shut down originally...
now VA reps are shitting their pants
