The Govmint ... lock er up!

I wonder if this is a ploy to regain the Senate in 2014. If the Senators up for re-election next year have to vote for BarryCare 2-3 more times right now, it will be a great campaign tool when it all blows up.

Those same Democratic Senators will be running away from it like mad next November.

well..I just checked it out how it affects my house..no va disability in the event of a shutdown

thats a bummer

but hey, at least I'm not trying to process a gun permit or a passport right now

edited to add; I retract that..apparently the va has a contingency plan in place because they were caught with their pants down in 95' and 96'

I wonder how long it is sustainable

Your fine and funded for a whole year. The va is mandated to have the budget voted on and in place a year in advanced due to what happened in 95 so all vets are covered

*You're

and disability benefits can be delayed if this goes on long enough

Veterans' benefits will be disrupted by extended shutdown - The Washington Post

Veterans groups have reacted angrily to news that an extended government shutdown will leave the Department of Veterans Affairs unable to make disability compensation and pension payments to veterans.

yeah see...I just looked over what employees will be dusted from the shut down and it wasn't very encouraging..I expect the VA to grind to a halt truthfully.

I feel incredibly bad for anyone currently trying to get their initial claim through or an appeal
something I did for a couple of years was help vets gather and write their packets and know exactly how inept the VA is at handling ANY paperwork.

there was even some bizarre obscure thing about eight burials a day processed .... I can't even wrap my head around some of it.

Medical will continue ...thats about the only thing I really got from all of it.

They need to pass a bill that takes care of vets even when a shutdown is in place.
