The "feel good" tips thread

Let's face it, some days you feel like upper sh*t, tired, not motivated and wondering what you're going to do (if not why you're still alive)

Some other days, you're in super high mood : motivated, strong, with projects and ready to enjoy life

Contrary to what drug companies want us to believe the answer seldom stands in drugs (SSRIs)

So, what are yours tips to feel good (no need to mention what you're smoking :verygood: ) ?

Here are 3 of mine :

* Music : I have burned a "feel good" CD with songs that could cheer up a suicidal man

* Diet : Tryptophan-rich foods. It's all about brain chemistry and it works
Serotonin rocks :)

* Cardio : a medium/long cardio session liberates endorphins and that's good ! Weightlifting also works great :)

I've done 2 5k races so far......they are fun, it's a social outing, the $20 fee supports a good cause (Make a Wish foundation, Mental Health Assoc. etc), running 3.11 miles = a good cardio workout, etc.....

It's hard to get up at 7 am on a Saturday am, but it gives me a boost knowing I got my cardio in early, the rest of the day is mine & I've helped a good cause.....

Also, I find it very satisfying to do work around the house.....who says hanging drywall isn't exercise?? LOL
 
If I can get my ass up and do cardio in the morning, I feel great the rest of the day. Like I've accomplished something. Most times, it gets me motivated to do other stuff that I put off, like laundry and cleaning the house. :)
