The FCC is getting out of control

It's called BANDWIDTH. Video feeds are slow as it is, let alone trying to broadcast multiple feeds. Peering of individual nets also represent a huge problem except in large metropoli.

i'm talkin about radio.....and there are thousands of internet radio broadcasts out there now.....just not the major networks with the shit I want to listen to....

Although video is more bandwidth intensive, even audio will cause grief as more stations come on line. Most companys IT departments block audio and video feed sites because they are bandwidth hogs.

I think the bandwidth issue is primarily artificial since there is enough dark fiber out there that could be activated and used. The issue is that the big businesses that own it haven't found a way to become zillionaires off of it yet.

It would make sence for nation wide bussineses but it will make it difficult to advertise local ones

since you're talking internet, you also have to think international. What the fuck does a small shop in wisconsin care that his commercial is being heard in Syngapore, it does nothing for his bussiness

you are 100% correct. stern already tried looking into it.

But there is always satellite radio. I'm pretty sure the FCC can't fine anyone for what is broadcasted of satellite. although if things keep going on they way they are they might be able too.

why can't there be local internet affiliates just like there is local air affiliates...???

duh

seems to me it would be just as easy......

btw, I think people like the Taliban would be proud of what the FCC is doing.

letely it seems that
republican = communist

They are supposed to stand for less govenment involvement in peoples lifes, but it seems that lately theres been major goverment involvement in everything that is affecitng peopels lifes and freedoms.

It is the republican agenda driving these new 1950 FCC "zero tolerance" rules

Depending on how you look at it this may be a good thing. The FCC could be putting the nail in the coffin of the present commercial television. If you're not putting things on the tube people want to watch, then your ratings go down, advertising dollars disapper and they go out of business.
