For a long time I couldn't figure out why everyone on this site is so down on oral only cycles. I've been doing this shit for over 20 years and this "oral only cycles are ALWAYS wrong" attitude is pretty recent and not always correct.
If finally hit me why everyone is so negative on them. Most of the people on this board are BB'ers. BB'ers define "gains" differently than performance atheletes, which I was. I've been both a pro football player and an amateur power lifter.
Take a d.bol only cycle for example. Yes, you lose most of the weight gains - BUT you keep most of the strength gains. Now while this may not be ideal for a BB'er, it may be absolutely ideal for a boxer, an MMA fighter, power lifter, etc.
These guys usually don't want to gain weight because it moves them up a weight class. So for them an anavar or halo only cycle may be absolutely ideal.
Now my first cycle was a d.bol only cycle. Like I said, it was over 20 years ago so my memory is a little fuzzy, but as I recall I kept well over 10 lbs of muscle gain and lost a lot of fat. I also kept well over 75 lb gain in my bench and over 100lb gains in deadlift, squats, etc.
No while that's not ground breaking, it was well worth the 6 weeks and roughly $100.00 (est.) total I spent. I would be far from calling it a waste of time.
So here's the bottom line - Before anyone starts saying that oral only cycles are ALWAYS wrong, get more info.
Maybe the guy doesn't WANT to gain more than 10 lbs. Is that wrong? Of course not. So if it's not wrong, why is the poor guy flamed? Maybe it's personal reasons, maybe it's professional reasons, maybe it's the sport he's involved in.
Now if the guy wants to gain 30 or more lbs, oral only cycles are clearly not the best way to go.
If he simply wants a performace enhancment, or strength gain and doesn't want to gain a lot of weight - an oral only cycle may work just fine.
And please don't tell me you can't keep any of your gains. I've been there, done that, and know the truth from first hand experience.
