If you are a person who is serious about making your work in the gym pay off, and you're looking for a quality protein powder, this is the stuff you need to get. Optimum Nutrition 100% Whey (Gold Standard - I think they've done away with just the original) is the way to go. The claims are that it will help your muscles recover more quickly, it digests quickly and easily and not only does it taste good, but it is instantized, which means it mixes very easily, even with a spoon, which is rare for a protein powder.
Pros:
Amazing taste
Vanilla Ice Cream really smells like its name sake and mixes really well with anything you put it in (try oatmeal!). Great choice for adding extra protein to regular meals. Plus, it gets the most servings at 80 per 5 lbs.
Double Rich Chocolate- your typical chocolate. Yummy! Not watery. 77 servings.
This stuff tastes good with water, it's instantized so you can stir it with a spoon and it won't clump (if you do it right), and if you mix it with milk, it's just like drinking a milkshake, so when you're dieting and you're craving chocolate, this is a dessert in itself, and you don't have to feel guilty about it!
4 grams of L-Glutamine to speed muscle recovery and grow your muscles. It contains a complete balance of your BCAA's plus the other amino acids and with 24 grams of protein and only 3 carbs per scoop, you can't go wrong.
If you are comparing this with EAS, go with this. EAS has only 23 grams, no L-Glutamine, yes it has the aminos but it is not instantized, it does NOT mix well. Optimum Nutrition whey protein also has Aminogen which helps the protein digest much easier so the protein is delivered to your muscles much more effectively. EAS may be cheaper, but this is the better deal, spend the extra few dollars. In fact, if cost is a factor, you can check out www.advantagesupplements.com for a better bargain.
Cons:
None. It is more expensive than some others, but it is the BEST value for your money, it does what it claims and will benefit your muscles greatly. Plus, if taste is a factor, this is definitely the best tasting protein powder out there.
(Side note: epinions does not have anything about their 100% Casein powder, but if you're looking for it at the same time, I highly recommend Optimum Nutrition's brand as well. most taste nasty and chalky, ON's brand tastes just like drinking brownie mix and it's excellent.)
Recommended:
Yes
Amount Paid (US$): 32.99
Taste: Quite tasty
Favorite flavor: Chocolate or Vanilla Ice Cream
