The ALA trick worked

Today as an experiment I ate 4 homemade gourmet cookies, taking 500 mg of ala immediately before and 500 after eating of those cookies. This was at 930 this morning. So I just checked 400 pm and I'm in ketosis. However, I think I will use this trick sparingly. Prefer the no carb route.

Yes, you'll be in Ketosis, but did that glucose refill liver glycogen, halting the release of glucagon. I think it might have.

But, the low-insulin environment is quiet good.....

mr x. shouldnt 500mg prior to the carb meal be sufficient to kick one into ketosis? isnt the ala after the meal over-doing it?

500mg ala prior to meal should LOWER YOUR BLOOD SUGAR enough to show ketosis, not necesserily saying you'll be in a ketonic state w/ glucagon release. I usually recommend R-ala due to the more controlled and better quality, 100mg R-ala per 30g carbs before meal.
