That Steroid thing on Fox

They were talking about it on the morning(evening) show about an hour ago, it's gonna be on Sunday at 9, looks like it's gonna be pretty negative.. they had a preview of this guy saying his son commited suicide because he took steroids

ya i know it could be bad bad

there is another thread on here about it

just suck it up and hope they dont make the laws for any tougher for aas..

i can care less what they say about it but i just dont want harsher laws...

yeah, seems like the heat is up...
I was considering stocking up on a few things throughout this year.
I can just see the fist thing that happens after the election is everybody up in Washington saying "hey, look at us...we really are working! We've added steroid law enforcement to Homeland Security!"
Then Carnivore will be looking at us too. Usama bin Dbol

I truely do not understand "their" interest in steroids at all...Iam baffled why such attention is being brought to the forefront about it...Ive posted this "Question" before and recieved no response....

When I talked to them about being on the show the producer was as sweat as pie. Talking about how level this program would be and how it was to show the "other side" of AS use. I knew she was a lying bitch and was just looking for another freak to point a "shame" finger at. Phuck FOX and the horse they rode in on.
The public interest is in shock and misery. Steroids are the new boogie man that is plagueing the country, corrupting our youth, destablizing our society. The fact that there are over million men using steroids for non-medical purposes in the US right now and they only have a handful of misuses leading to death doesn't matter. The 99.97% that benefits are not the story it's the ones who mess up with it that are.

the way this country picks the things to ban amazes me, they ban ephedra because a handful of people die, but even w/ the trials on tobacco (sp?) , they still don't ban that, and alchohol kills more people daily then ephedra has.......

my question is, isn't there someone in a producer position that reads this board that can get a show on air about the way this country ignores the deaths from things like tobacco and alchohol and bans things like ephedra ????

It's simple. They are COWARDS and care nothing for truth or reality. They're a disgrace and a dishonor to their professions.

Agreed. That goes for all media coverage IMO.

hey, gonelifting.....my best friend has herpes also, but i can't reveal his name because people who know me here in dallas might figure it out.....but that part on your signature is funny.....

i know citruscide knows his legal shit, i know there has to be people here who use and enjoy the benifits of aas's......are we gonna stand by and let things get dry as hell ??

i know that some people wouldn't want anyone to know of their aas use, and i can understand that......but i'd like to at least explore the options available to us (aas users) at least brainstorm and see what we could come up with.......maybe we can't do anything but, i'd like to at least start the question and get some ideas and views.......

too much money and politics involved in going after tobacco...it'll never happen. Besides the gov't taxes the shit out of alcohol and tobacco. This is the arguement the "legalize marijuana" people have used: "just tax it like you do alcohol and tobacco"...it'll never happen. Too complicated to go into in detail.

i really don't want 2 go after either ..... and i understand it's about money

my question is what are our (aas users) options ?

i started a thread just to hear people ideas and views....

..and the notion that steroids somehow 'caused' this guys son to kill himself is so baseless, I don't even think hard-drugs can cause suicide, people who kill themselves have these extremedepressive episodes where they can lose control and act on impulse; I had a friend once who suffers from depresion and almost did it once and he told me drugs have nothing to do with it..

i agree... steriods do nothing to the brain to turn the user to turn them into suicidal depression. Only good things come from AS when used CORRECTLY.

Also this show on Fox is suppose to be THIS sunday at 9??

Fox sucks bro, I hate watching TV even anymore. It seems like life has turned into a giant commercial. Sit back and think about who really has to gain in all this? The food industry with their constantly chamging pyramid food scheme, the medical industry with their expensive surgeries, liposuction, etc...,

And the sad thing is they will always find people to sell their souls on television. Everyone wants to show their face in the hopes of becoming the next American Idol Whore! Willing to sell their beliefs and their comrades for a few seconds of fame in hopes of being noticed....

Were suppose to be compasionate and feel sorry for these people that lost their life in the most disgracefull way you could. To take youre own life? What a fucking disgrace. Youre son was weak, deal with the fact that he was a total waste of protein. Why should the living have to suffer? What did I do? I didnt create youre son's problems. What a fucking waste of life.

This world sucks!

Ohhhh....I don't know about that.

The fact is that there are hundreds of studies to support the fact that most AAS have been shown to alter neuro-chemistry and cause anxiety and depression.
All androgens have a tendancy to increase catecholamines and dopamine without a corresponding balanced increase in serotonin.
Deca-Durabolin has been shown to cause a down-regulation in 5HT receptors.

Testosterone is useful in HRT indications in tharapeutical doses and can increase energy, well being, libido, bone density and relieve most cases of depression, anxiety, fear from sub-normal test levels.

Oxymethelone has great promise in anemic conditions, and tissue building and sparing requirements, when there's no othe options and the risk to benefit ratio favours the indicated benefit.

Oxandrolone has been used for muscle wasting conditions(HIV,burns, dystrophies etc.) promotion of skeletal growth and increased bone density in children and adults. Crohn's disease, fibromyalgia etc.

Deca Durabolin for burns, anemia, bone conditions and HIV due to it's low incidence or adverse effects.

When excessive supra-physiological doses are used, then of course they definitely have a negative effect on both body and mind. Psycological effects being serious depression, mood swings, irratibility, aggressive behavior with a co-responding amygdala burnout. You combine that with intense training, and stoic perfectionist-type dieting and you got yourself a time-bomb waiting to happen.
I mean sure it also depends on the pre-inscribed genetic disposition of the individuals character, personality and tolerance to stressors, but it's still gasoline building up.

The governing bodies do have the right to scrutinize AAS as the culprit when it comes to health and legal issues because let's face it many people have used the roid defence in courts, when it came to issues like assaults, murders, attempt murder, spousal abuse, arsons. Sexual crimes like rapes, molestations and assaults have been exused by the defense of abnormal pre-occupation with sexual thoughts. I mean come on the individual is pond scum.
I myself got off of a serious assault charge back in 1990 only because my lawyer backed up his defence with tons of case histories showing that AAS can cause severe psychosis and agressive behavior which disalows any rational judgement.

Sure this is a political witch-hunt, crock-pot of shit which stands to benefit the law-enforcement agencies both for browny points and control for their usage.I mean North America is always been about selfish manipulation and control. WE all have hopefully learned this by now. The journalists and the media stand to gain by working hand-in-hand with governing bodies, so that they can kiss ass up the ladder and the politicians will look like concerned humanatarians who care only about the future of our children, and not for re-election ploys.

Unfortunately AAS are up for re-evaluation again. It's too bad that the afiliation has become so convincing with the lifestyle. Majority of times exageration has become distorted with reality and that AAS are the evil pre-cursors for every crime:

1.X -tasy been shown to cause death of serotonergic axons and holes in cerebral tissues. One girl get's fucked up.Family files a complaint. Who gave it to you?(main origin) Who's running the clendastine bathtub labs?...AAS users.

2. GHB...date rape..same thing huge political pressure from taxpayers to abolish this for good(it always goes sour with greed and abuse) this was a great med. for me and many others, as I have serious sleep problems. Who's running it?.....Not to mention Law enforcemnt loves to get it's Kudos from big bust expose.

3. Crystal....same shit! What's the pre-cursor? Ephedrine hcl? Wait..Isn't that shit that them bodybuilders take? Yup! Well their bad!
Take em down.

4. Cocaine with oxycon or benzo(controlled drug)
cocktail to level the sketchiness out cause we got to feel goood!...Yada.

5. Sildenafil-UG..patent hasn't run out....Whoa! huge pressure from a multi-billion dolar pharma giant to shut down these guys. With of course a huge kick-back to law-enforcement agencies!
BB's are always sexually active and scoring hot chicks...They must be the instigators.

See..It's all about the lifestyle of being buffed, partying, flashy cars and clothes. No work and easy money.Picking up the honeys, which is some law or government official's wife, girlfriend or daughter.
They're definitely intimidated and threatened by us aliens.
Plus it doesn't help when a bust goes down and everything is exposed and the runners had a whack of crank and are all jacked to hell...the precursor syndrome.

Don't make me laugh mentioning tobacco and alcohol causes millions of cases of diseased states which cause the nation billions of dollars in extra health care costs, not to mention all the legal issues with alcohol disorientation(deaths from dui, assaults and firearms). Some of this is adressed and the rest is bought and payed for and taxed, and goes into the pockets of rich oficiendos. Oh just as long as it isn't their family, who gives a f***k.

AAS suppliers don't have the finance to make heads turn the other way and they never will. In the eyes of the average fat, biased, ignorant tax payer they are a nuisance and should be eliminated. That and the fact that they're in the wrong place at the wrong time makes them vulnerable to political manipulation as the "Rasputin" of all drugs.

I'm gonna have to go into hiding just to watch this show Sunday. I don't want the people I live with to see this. They will be so angry at me for having anything to do with this piece of sh*t. Thanks! Alan.

They are right about one thing though (when they were talking about it on the morning show), those on-line pharmacy's-the ones that look like Amazon.com only they're selling steroids, and they accept credit cards(and they're usually way overpriced) and they come up when you put 'steroid' in the search.. those probably shouldn't exist-I think it goes too far when they start doing the credit card thing and being that obvious about it..

Why make a show like this, why now. Because the presidents statement about it? There has been so much attention on AAS use recently in the news, even fat ass Ricky Lake had a pathetic show on it. Steriods are already illegal, what is the fucken point of these shows. AAS has always had a negative rap. Could they be running out of new ideas for their shows?

Does anyone know if this is the same station as Fox in Canada? I know I have Fox, but I dont know about Fox news. I hope I dont need a dish or digital cable to see this.

It's not the regular FOX, you will need satelite or cable to view FOX NEWS LIVE.

Its on tonight at 9 for sure i keep seeing the preview for it as im watching news right now.

Many, if not the majority of athletes, use steroids. Look at how good of shape they're all in. Look at how healthy they are. I mean come on now, Barry Bonds, Marion Jones, etc etc etc are all in superior tip-top physical condition. It's funny that the ones who want to ban steroids are the fat, lazy, out of shape lardasses who will never be able to compete on any level with these "steroid abusers".

It was so stupid. That`s all there is to say. They spent "months" here researching? lmao

From what was reported about steroid "abuse" the streets should be full of people falling over dead. They said about the future effects, oh, yeah right, as if they weren't taking steroids 20+ years ago. Some have died but not any more that folk in other segments of the country. B-O-G-U-S....

PEACE.

Eh bro, can you rip this to a format I can watch on my computer? I wouldnt mind uploading it from you if possible. I can send you my ftp link, or set something up through messenger. Let me know bro ... definately be appreciated.

Cheers,

p.s. Did they actually mention Elitefitness?

Yeah - post it so we can make a spoof on it like "mystery science theater 2000". We can have some jacked shadows in the front of the screen yelling out funny stuff about the people in the show, then post it on the web. I bet it gets downloaded more than it had viewers on the original telecast!

I missed the first 10 minutes. but I don`t think they metioned EF. It was really all BS. Just a big waste of time. Nothing learned from it. I honestly don`t think it`s worth downloading to watch. Sure curiousity will get you, but it was DEFINATELY not worth it IMO. Just normal "news talk" type BS.

YOu are right ... Im sure its nothing .... but curiosity is killing me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I almost fell out of my chair when the 'should dealers who sell to children be charged with attempted murder' quote came up. Jesus christ, that was wonderful. Who is William Llewelyn?

Could someone please post an address where everyone could e-mail or somehow contact FOX? This is absolutely deploreable and I believe that every one of us should take at least 2 min. and voice our opinion to them....this disgusts me to no end....especially when cigarette companies are making MILLIONS off of LITERALLY killing children and adults alike...yet you can pass a 13 year old smoking in the street and its no big deal....if a 23 year old was seen popping a couple D-bol in a gym....and the FEDS wanna throw him in prison next to cocaine/heroin addicts...I want to puke....

You can email them at [email protected]. I personally think its a waste of time. Reasoning with these people and their 'views' is like reasoning with a nazi about anti-semitism. You're wasting your time.

On the bright side i saw no mention of elite fitness on that program. Thank god.

can anyone confirm if they mentioned elite or not? I didn't get to see this trash.

Mr.X

no mention of elite that i saw..thank god for the guy from the anabolic books. He is our only voice of reason!

the best part is when the went "undercover" to the mexican pharmacies. The one pharmacist said that steriods will make you look like a movie star. He said like tom cruise, or the legs of leonardo dicaprio...

god that was such a great line and i let out the biggest laugh ever. Legs of leonardo dicaprio..hahahah

No mention of Elite or anyother Anabolic web sites thank goodness.
They did do a search on "anabolic steroids" and said over 100 sites came up where to purchase them most all they showed were in mexico.
They did show the author of the book Anabolics 1000 so i take it that was Bill Lewlynn.

I was surprised they even had him on to express a different point of view. He gave many of the answers most of us would have i would suggest. He did a fine job for the limited amount of time they actually talked to him. The show in general seemed to express an incredible amount of misinformation and seemed just to be a way to try to scare kids (who should not be taking them anyway).

Everyone on that show who used steroids should have asked for their money back cause they didn't work! Those kids looked like they never lifted weight before....ever!

And I wouldn't have killed myself if I had a girlfriend who was cool with me taking steroids and was a fucking HOTTIE!

Not sure why I expected more of Fox.. Glad at least they gave me 5 seconds.. Otherwise, the show was entirely disgusting and offensive, as you have seen for yourselves.

Here is copy of the letter I sent Monica Hill last night, assistant producer of the show.

Monica,

I just finished watching “Breaking Point: The Truth About Steroids”, and I wanted to offer you my feedback. On a professional note, I strongly disagree with the main viewpoints and conclusions given about the steroid issue. I am extremely disappointed that you did not air many of the statements that Dr. Nick Evans and myself have offered as contrary viewpoints. The show drew many sharp conclusions that were not supported by the interviews or medical data, did not offer a balance of differing opinions, and ultimately did not seem focused on investigating the “truth about steroids” at all.

On a personal note, my sincerest congratulations to FOXNEWS are still warranted. In my nearly fifteen years of following the steroid issue I have never seen such a poor piece of journalism. There were so many blatant misrepresentations, errors, and omissions of contrary viewpoints that I would almost categorize the show as satirical in nature. You have officially lowered the bar for everyone.

Steroids Killed My Son!!!

Oh and I can't stop raging on the basketball court either.

Notice how all their "experts" were from the anti-doping committee or other special interest sports organizations...

The funniest thing is that before I agreed to do the show, I insisted that Dr. Nick Evans be asked to participate also. I did not want to be the sole individual offering the "pro" (or reality-based) side of things, stacked up against a parade of anti-steroid figures.. They agreed, and spent a good deal of money flying a camera crew to LA to interview him..

In the end they aired ONE SENTENCE of his, and didn't even let him finish it.. They cut the entire remainder of his interview, obviously because he was a respected medical authority offering a very different perspective than Dr. Wadler or Pope.

Just gotta love FOX.. These people actually consider themselves journalists..

Hey, Will, you were lookin good on there though. I felt you did a good job at offering a professional and calm presentation. Unlike everyone else on there, lol.

Hey, you should need a liver transplant and stuff by now shouldnt you?

;)

I wonder what their motivation is not to give responsible educated adult's veiwpoints on steroid use is. Does it comes from the fear of low ratings for them, or the same fictionally backed stance the average person takes on steroids, or something completely different? I thought news channels were supposed to broadcast unbiased reports on news and let the public decide. I don't watch Fox 25 as it is. Seems they don't know how to run a news channel either.

Fair & Balanced,,,,, LOL,,, nothing on fox is fair and balanced. They flat out lie about shit as can be seen from their steroid program. My question is what do you guys think they do on their other news programs? This one program was just an isolated case of lies and deception,,, bwaaahaaahaa. The whole network is full of shit!! Just remember that when so many people use them as their sole source of news. They are nothing more than a propaganda machine promoting Rupert Murdoch’s political agenda.

Drunk driving deaths are sooooo 90's, Fox cannot sell that anymore. They cannot link drunk drivers with terrorists!

But mexican steroid dealers that fund Al Queda terror cells, and are trying to wage a slow war by killing depressed tennagers with anabolic steroids!!!! Now that would be quite a story if Fox can pull it off.

And with a alchoholic coke head for a president, it would not benefit Fox to bring up such controversial things like drunk driving....
