That isn't Arnold....... is it?

This isn't how I'm used to seeing the man with the greatest physique of all time. Is it just the offseason? For it being said that Arnold didn't take high dosages of anything, he sure seems to be able to put weight on after he drops it. But then again, what do I know?

I guess that everybody has to bulk...

He did have an amazing build. It is far beyond the freaks of today.

I agree. He's the one who made me want to do this when I was young. I was just shocked to see him "out of shape", I guess. I've never been one to be able to let what I have go. I think if I did, I'd never get it back to where it is.

That being said, I don't think anyone has ever, or will ever have a better physique than Arnold.

Actually, not too many people know that Arnold did not train the full year...at least not his "full blown" training. He also didn't juice all year, at least not high doses all year.

He would lose a LOT of size all over his body except for his biceps.

They were freaky year round

I did not know that. Do the vet's today take time off or are their careers so shot now days they cannot afford to?

Tme off

Flavio Baccianini claims to do the same type of thing -- he was the 4'10" tall italian guy that was hyped up for a time in the magazines. Said he didn't work out most of the year -- only to get ready for a contest. Can't tell when these pics of arnold were taken but if they were in the early '80's (which a couple see mto be) then it might explain some.

most the old BB such as Arnold, Mentzer, did not bulk and took time off and got smaller.
They trained a few months before a show and reached peak at time of show in bodyweight and mass, leaving skin tighter.

Contrary to todays BB's who bulk to 300 and loose 50lbs in 6 weeks, and train yr round without break on body. I personally believe this is part of why their guts weren't so distended and skin always looks tighter and thinner, not stretched as far.

Never been a fan of bulking my b/f stays around 9 to 12% yr round.

Psychologically, I don't think I could stand rollercoastering like that. I keep lean all year, and build as much as I can while keeping my diet really clean all year.

To see him like he is above, and then see him like this:

I'd never be able to survive the weight loss.

That's just another example of his crazy genetics, that he can let himself go like that and show up on show day looking the way he does

Yeah, a lot of the guys in the seventies would drop 20-30lbs. in the off season, and then juice hard for a few months, put the size back on and lower bodyfat at the same time.-WULF
