Testosterone and mood elevation

STENOX666

I am curious, by what mechanism does testosterone cause mood elevation and anti depressants effects?

Also is mood elevation consequently because of the confidence one gains from gaining muscle, or is it physiological that testosterone actually changes the levels or neurotransmitters in the brain.

I am curious about everyone's opinion on how test effects their mood as far as relieving depression, creating euphoria and diminishing anxiety.

I have come across studies of cognitive enhancement , etc

Also, does the physchological aspect take effects at doses ,of lets say 100 mg's of a mixed ester like sust./weekly.

Thanks

I don't know how effective the 100mg's per week would be, becauce that is not very much more than a body produces (depending on age and genetics). I can say that I had an extended cycle of 150mg per week in which I made decent gains, but as far as the mood levels and horniness and other things that are felt during a regular cycle were not there... What I mean is that I did not get much enhancement from the way I normally felt.

But on the other hand, with higer levels of test...I the the mood enhancement is both phycological and physialogical.

Interesting point, I assume you are speaking while on and NOT during PCT. I would be curious to why it would make someone down, unless they have pre exsisting depression.

There are so many studies I have read off hand that are preaching some men with depression who didnt response to typical antidepressant, became a changed man after being on TEST(ongoing) in a short period of time.

i guess i'm backward, but i dont feel better when on test. i feel 'better' when on deca, or eq, or primo, but test really makes me an irritable person. i dont even keep any in my house anymore i do not use it.

For me the test makes me feel different depending on the current mood. If I'm out and about doing stuff, chillin at the bar or something, I feel incredible. More confidence less worries, and just overall more happy.

If something or someone is bothering me, i tend to get very impatient and very pissed off. I wouldn't ever take a swing or hurt anyone by any means. But, what I say or how i react varies WAY more than it used to.

For example....One of my roomies is also on right now. He started talking how he thought i was mumbling some shit about him to some chick, i was like i have no idea what you're talking about. Then he went off, and started getting like all internally angry, then i started to get angry, and we're just like looking at each other talking all pissed off. I walked away and was like you're being an ass I'll talk to you later. He came up like 10 mins later and was like "dude i'm sorry, We're best bro's i know everythings cool" And he like winked at me, and i just laughed. because I knew exactly why he got mad, and even how i got kinda mad.

So what it's like to me most of the time, is if you just realize what's going on and think about it. That I can usually 100% completely control my thoughts and actions etc just by using common sense, and not being a meat head.

Lot of text for something so simple....

Man, I can tell you I had my mom pass away about a year ago and it was a tough time transitioning from college graduation to losing a mom and moving all at the same time. Anyway about a year and a half went by and I felt really flat for the whole time period.. ( which is not my normal personality). Test was the only thing that seemed to snap the depression for me. All of a sudden I felt like myself again, I slept better, focused better , confidence came back. Even after the cycle I seemed to be a changed man.. ? Not sure but it helped me

Sounds like the test motivated you, and as you made behavior changes through the cycle they became habit, therefore your behavioral habits were set on a more postive tone and it stayed with you post cycle and on. Interesting.

Also, you say test was the only thing that broke the depressive state, as in compared to SSRI's???? prowhack, zoloft, etc

Thanks

mood elevation may be psychosomatic when you start your test cycle. there is always the excitement, the newness of being on. after a few weeks it will not be so new and exciting and normal mood changes will return.

this happens to me and when I am on for too long it almost seems like its time to PCT because of the way I feel and my own body lets me know.

Ya bro ; I was honestly going through my graduation ceremony when my mom was literally on her death bed it was in the least of all situations very bad. To compound that I was of course moving to the city from my college town and starting full time working... I've never experienced depression or stress prior to but believe me I got a full dose then. I don't recall dates nor do I recall sleeping at all. My doc tried all the ssri's but honestly it just made matters worse.. After a year or so my sleeping problems were slowing subsiding slowly. Since i ditched my ex girlfriend when my mom was sick I was kinda feeling a bit lonely and I've always been successful when it comes to dating... Test literally broke me out of the hole, ? Its been several months thereafter that cycle and I'm literally back to my old self?? I'm really not sure what to say .... I'm focused, I sleep well, I lift well and I'm looking good. The test helped

great post and I am curious to see more replies. Bump this. My current also being my first cycle, I di dnotice I felt MUCH better and I usually and a pretty happy even keel kinda guy. I like test. :D

I am prone to depression/anxiety, have been on psychotropics for over eight years now, and have to, as a matter of survival, monitor my moods very carefully. The chemical imbalance I suffer from is genetic. My mother and many on that side of the family are, to be frank, wackjobs.

Anywho, SSRI's only keep me from falling into a state of physiologically induced depression. They do not give me a high, nor do they make me artifically happy. All paxil does is make me feel normal.

Test, on the other hand, does give me a greater sense of well being. Dbol does too, but I gave it up because of the pumps and MPB. The only reason I'm not using test for HRT is because, believe it or not, I actually prefer to limit the number of drugs I put in my body. I know I absolutely must use the paxil, but I can live without the test.
