test low and thyroid problems...

hey yall im new and have a few questions. let me start off by telling you im 22yrs old 6'2" and 290. i have been in the gym on and off since i got out of school. around 1yr ago i had to go to Texas for work for about 2 weeks and i gained around 25lbs between then and now i have gained another 25lbs. i got to where i got to make myself go to work, clean yard ect..... hell i dont even feel like fishing anymore, so i went to a local clinic to get my levels checked and sure enough my test serum and free test was low and the doc said my thyroid was high. he stated he would like to help me with my test prob but being im so young and that low i defiantly need to go to the endo doc. ive heard that if your thyroid was high u would loose excessive amounts of weight.... so if im high how did i gain? also what does the thyroid do? and do yall think they will put me on HRT or TRT? Is there any other guys that are my age that have been in my shoes on here? sorry so long and thanks in advanced.

Welcome. Slow steady weight gain with nothing else changing can be hormones but if you packing on weight fast you really need to reevaluate your diet and workouts, no amount of hormones is going to compensate for being lazy and eating crap.

That being said, HRT is a general term that implies replacing many hormones while TRT implies just replacing testosterone. Generally speaking a high thyroid means your producing an excess or T3 or T4 which generally means you body burns more energy. As I mentioned above though slightly elevated hormones wont overcome poor eating habits and diet.

An endo may put on you on test but an HRT clinic likely wont touch you.

Often times just cleaning up your diet and getting a good exercise program can help bring your hormone levels in line as well. High body fat can cause excess estrogen which can also cause a decrease in test because its one of the many hormones used in the feedback mechanism for test production.

Ok bro thanks. So In reality I need to hit the gym and stay in there and start eating more healthy. I think I'm gonna still go to the endo. I was talkin with a good friend yesterday about a good first cycle and he told me to find some good whinny and hit the gym hard. I was thinkin if I can get trt then I may do this as my first cycle ever

IMHO winny only is a bad idea, franky any cycle without test is not ideal in my mind.

If your 50lbs overweight you really need to get your workout and diet in check if your interested in cycleing. If your looking to go on TRT it can HELP with fat loss but is not the main factor in fat loss, diet and exercise are.

food is really the only fat burner you need and a tabatta/HIIT or short crossfit style workout (less than 15 minutes) 3 days a week with a clean diet will peel fat off you. Simp,e diet dont eat anything processed with the exception of protein powder if needed and cheese. Stick with fresh fruits, veggies, meats, nuts. Ditch potatoes/rice and any other high glycemic/starchy carb. Avoid grains/pasta/bread etc and weight comes off easy.

If you clean up your diet and then still want a fat burner, Forged Burner is a good one that helps suppress your appetite as well.
