Tendonitis?

I have been having issues with my elbows hurting really bad after any thing strenuous. I have a sharp pain that feels like it’s in the triceps/back elbow area that hurts when I lift especially doing bench or triceps exercises. It only hurts though until I do a few light sets and then goes away. But then after working out or lifting anything my whole elbow hurts top to bottom? I have to take Advil to make the pain even bearable. Is this Tendonitis or what?

I have a similar issue below the elbow. When mine first struck it took a while to figure it out, but what I ended up doing, as a treatment was stop doing as much as possible 'til the area healed, then start working out, easing into it.
Now the only time it bothers me is if I stop working out for a few weeks, it slowly comes back.

I know this is a bit old, but I had the same problem. I got a pain in my elbow trying to extend my arm out. I started from mountain biking and the stress it put on my triceps/elbow. Its called tricep tendonitis. It hurt it further by doing forehead extensions. I finally just had to stop biking for awhile and when I started my 5x5 routine it cut out my tricep work. My elbow feels MUCH better now, but it took a couple months.

I have a similar problem with my elbows especially the left one right now. It takes many warm up sets now before the pain will decrease at all in the area. I have a few ideas on why this happened to me and maybe it will give you guys some ideas as well.

1) Lifting heavy all the time and not taking it easy from time to time.

2) Not properly warming up ! Pyramiding upwards to your heaviest weight.
When i first started back in the day as they say, i did not have to worry much about pyramiding up to my heaviest workout weight since it wasn't as heavy as it is now. Doing 1 or 2 warm up sets and going straight to let's say 95lbs. Tricep Extensions is not goind to damage your elbows as it would be if you did your 1 or 2 warm up sets and went straight to 225lbs. Tri. Ext.

3) Not using any supplements for joints i.e. Glucosamine / calcium.

4) Doing cycles with test over a period of time has been seen to decrease the colagen in your joints and this will make you more suseptable to injury.

Well, hope this helped anyone here experienceing joint pain.

Laters. :)

Yes this is tendinitous and it sucks ..

I had it for years the doc told me to just take advil and do different exercised that did not hurt.

So I did I would take off it would feel better and i would start back and the pain would slowly return. I did this several times..

after about 3 years of this shit.. ha ha..
I went to a chiro for my back and I told her about my elbow thinking they just helped backs....

she adjusted my elbow poped it ha sounds painful but was not...

she did this 2 times and I was freaking out.. after 3 years all better ...

Chiropractors are a weight lifters best friend ... they fix joint muscle problems.. and now I am back to doing trcept extensions with 120lbs again ...
